Played rugby in college and the women's rugby team had a coach who had slept with more than one of the girls. She was a recruiter taking advantage of young women in an experimental time in their lives and she engaged in sexual acts with them and held a relationship with one. One of them was 17 (Age of consent is 21 for employees of a public school in a position of authority over subject in question). When I brought up how unprofessional it was and that if she spent less time fucking her players they may actually win a game, I was told that I would be reported for being a homophobe. I was the bad guy. She demoralized the whole team and constantly bad talked us. They challenged us to scrimmages all the time and we turned it down every time til finally our coach gave in. We stomped them and one of their players was injured and we lost our funds. We didn't have a rugby club for 3 semesters after that.

Although I accept the general point here about the imbalance between the treatment of each gender, I do think that the guy needs to take a little bit more responsibility for his actions - not because he's a man, but because he's an adult, and sorry, but she's barely out of childhood.

I have a sixteen year old son and two nieces of the same age. I wouldn't consider any of them capable of sound mature judgement, nor would they be capable of a mature relationship with an adult.

Frankly, the guy is an idiot if he thinks that you can hold down a job that trusts you with the care of teenage kids and also have sex with them.

The greater proportion of punishment should rightly fall on the shoulders of the adult in this case regardless of whether the child was influenced by others to feel victimised.
