Why don't activist feminists vote? Don't they know they are being sexist by not voting for women into office?

I am opposed to voting (usually) though I am neither an activist nor a feminist. For me personally, I am not happy twith the 2-party system in the US and so I abstain or vote 3rd party. I think not voting is a valid political statement jsut as much as voting is.

Actually they would be sexist if they voted women into office, they should vote for someone who has got good policies not for the person's gender.

It's a big topic but voting in the USA is basically rigged so that a corporate suit wins each time. It doesn't have anything to do with gender though.

Voting is not seen as a privilege to be taken away or exercised at your discretion, but as a DUTY. I have to pop in to the local library today to early vote for the territory elections because the weekend is full up with a paintball tournament that was organised at the very start of the year, and I'm not missing that just so I can vote.

In my mind, it's really important to have your say. Everyone has an opinion, educated or otherwise, so why wouldn't you let it count?

It seems this attitude is prevalent here as well. I'm constantly seeing suggestions for a "voting strike," as if not voting would accomplish anything.
