There is no gender pay gap. Statistically speaking a 2% difference isn't a difference at all, and that's what the difference between what women earn compared to "equal" men, men who also happen to work more hours and have more experience.

Women are by and large, taking women as a whole, from college graduation to retirement paid more than men are per hour. -Ooooo! I said it!

This absurd law is promoted by the same man-hating feminist sexists who cry bloody murder when anyone proposes reducing discrimination against fathers in family court. Even though statistics show that unmarried women without children already earn 30% MORE than unmarried men without children. In other words, the cause of the "wage gap" is that women have choices, and men do not have any choices. Why not solve the problem by giving men the same CHOICE to be fathers, as women have to be mothers?!?

In the fields where men do actually get paid more than women (ie physical labor) I can see why a woman might be upset. While the man might argue that he did more work, the woman might argue that she worked just as hard. Both make a reasonable argument. However, as long as we live in a capitalist system, the former is what will determine your wage. It's not an issue of discrimination, it's an issue of economics.

On the flip side, a women who can perform the services of a wet nurse would get paid more than any man would for child care. It's no different. I wish we lived in a system that was designed to be able to reward people based on effort, but that's not how the world woks :-(

Human resources cost a lot of money. If there is a wage gap as large as some would claim, I wonder why companies don't just hire only women for 23% less than men for the same productivity. They'd cut their overhead by such a substantial amount, they would surely be able to put their competition out of business...

Exactly as my Father told me: You get paid for what you're WORTH, not what you WANT. If a guy is doing more and/or better work than a woman, then he is MORE VALUABLE to the company and so should be paid more. It's like the difference between Mac and PC (in the olden days) where Mac cost more because Apple made sure that every Mac was better designed and working towards it's best capabilities, and so it crashed less. A PC with the exact same specs would be worth LESS than a Mac because Bill Gates doesn't bother to make sure every PC is working to it's best and would crash much more often than a Mac. Because of this, a Mac was WORTH MORE because it was more reliable and could do all the same jobs as a PC but much more smoothly and less chance of losing everything.
