This could be solved easily. He surrenders the drugs to staff on entering the place and then let him have the prescribed dose when he needs to take it. Not rocket science.

My father has MS, and I can tell you, the man NEEDS those drugs. MS is a terrible disease. To deny him access because of this is absolutely awful.

Drugs for multiple sclerosis ? What exactly is the issue here ? Of course it's a cheap excuse . You can't honestly believe that they have the right to say "You can't bring your perfectly legal , life-saving medication with you . You can either leave it outside and die inside or keep it outside and die with it there ."

This isn't only a men's rights issue . This is discrimination on so many sides it's unbelievable how heartless and hateful the people at that "shelter" (really just another anti-male indoctrination center) are .

The title of this post is bullshit. His rejection had nothing to do with being male; he was rejected for having narcotic pain medication. This is not a men's rights issue.

The motivation for this policy is understandable: these shelters probably deal with a lot of drug addicts. Many of them have problems with opiates...maybe the very medication that Doug was prescribed to treat his pain.

I highly doubt that they would have applied the policy differently to a woman possessing pain meds. Of course, it's also debatable as to whether such a policy is a good idea. This is probably a rare case; the number of their clients abusing opiates probably far exceeds the number using them for legit medical reasons.

Can you imagine them kicking out a woman because of her prescription painkillers? Fuck no, that would be just one more reason for having compassion on her. Oh she's in pain too the poor dear!
