Yes, its good to see these positive representations and important to celebrate them, especially now. On a personal level, I am going to make this coming father's day the best I possibly can for my Dad, because he deserves recognition and respect. I am never going to forget everything he has done for our family, this memory will not die.

At first, I thought you meant the movie "Happiness"...which conveys a very different message about a loving father than "The Pursuit of Happyness"

Fantastic movie. I just brought it to watch w/ my girlfriend and her parents due to this post. Great performance by will smith, who I didn't respect very much before this. He gave the role a quiet gravitas that still had a core of heated determination. I especially liked finding out that his actual son played the kid's role.

It's a pretty terrible movie that trivializes poverty and is not exactly all there when it comes to the racial politics. But Will Smith is a Black guy that white people find non-threatening so it wins a bunch of awards or some shit.
