If you remember primary school, or have been in contact with primary school recently, you'll know that where boys use overt physical bullying, girls use more subtle forms of ostracism.

Women. wield. social. power. In particular, the social power to shame and ostracize, to set the bounds for what consitutes acceptable and mandatory behavior. They always have, to a far greater degree than men, and usually with better coordination, too. Sure, men are capable of it, but denying that women are better at it is akin to denying that men are on average stronger.

When feminists complain about the "old boy's club" or Master suppression techniques, they are for the most part projecting. You could imagine the uproar if men circulated a list of female atheists who wouldn't be invited to speak because they made troublesome harassement claims.

After reading the blog and the one it was criticizing, I think she was reacting appropiately to the wrong issue.

First, there is an assumption that men are the only people who are harassing. This may be what is circulating in a group of women who are highly dismissive of men. (For more on this, see the comments in Zvan's blog from the white knight who is simultaneously told to stand up against sexism, but to expect no thanks for it, and warn him that defending a woman will possibly piss her off.

Um... what? If someone feels the need to come to my defense in just about any context, if I feel I can handle it, I'll thank them and tell them that. That's what you do when people stick up for you.

So much self-doubt and self-hate in the men on that blog. Men who, interestingly enough, are not really there to discuss Zvan's blog, but to seek approval. They are feminists, but call themselves "allies".

You can't work toward equality if you don't act like an equal.

if certain male members had done this, to the extent that the crazy feminist the article talks of, then they would certainly be 'named and shamed'. this person is just looking for offence, and, not finding it, making it up.

also, i believe there is an element of feminists trying to take over the 'movement', so to make their claims unassailable, within that community.

This individual actually made a video about the Agent Orange pictures. You see, THIS is what a 'true' feminist would be doing to ensure gender equality. Not sitting around shaming MRA's and pretending like we are the ones advocating killing, mutilating and aborting baby boys. Of course, feminists are ONLY concerned with women and refuse to look at both sides of the coin.

All of these people are trying to censor decent under the guise of making a "safe space" and preventing "attacks" (criticism of an argument).

They embrace the role of a victim in order to justify doing so. By defining themselves as victims and opponents as attackers, they justify their behaviour ot themselves and others.

Notice that this shit doesn't happen nearly as much on MRA blogs, forums, websites.

I don't think she's standing for the dignity of both sexes, nor do I think it's an example of misandry to complain discreetly about bad, sexist behavior by men. If anything, it's too good for people who do such things, but given the potential for witch hunts it is appropriate. Scented Nectar sets up a straw man with a stupid "oh noes, a man talking to a womans is ASAULT!!" line which has nothing to do with the problematic behavior originally identified. Attacking a straw man in order to set yourself up as The Reasonable Party is not standing up for anyone's dignity, because no one's is being attacked—except for that of the person you're misrepresenting, and the people being harassed by others.
