Another article on the same subject, where the woman author admits she used to laugh (like a lot of people do) at movies depicting testicle shots, but this story made her change her mind. I'm not sure I'm doing the html right here, so my apologies in advance if I break the internet.

That physically hurt just reading the story. Seriously, the thought of a man dying that way is painful to read.

I don't think a woman could ever understand the pain of getting a shot to the nuts, but it's the most unique and incomparable pain I think men are capable of feeling. But to some female commenters, the notion of it is funny. How is it something to joke about?

From what I hear, child birth is pretty painful, and I'll never experience what it's like obviously. But I would never ever feel right about making light about women who die while giving birth. How is laughing about a man dying from getting his testicles squeezed much different?

The stock photos they choose for these stories are always in such fucking poor taste. As if partially peeled bananas in articles about circumcision weren't bad enough. I would love to see the reaction if they used a picture of a melon with a knife stuck in it for an article about a woman's breast getting cut off, or a severed pencil eraser in an article about FGM. I'm sure that would go over well.

As bad as this is, stories like this will never be taken completely seriously. If it involves a man's genitals, there'll always be humour associated to it. Personally I've never found people getting hit in the groin funny..it's no different to getting hit on the arm...there's just nothing amusing there to me. But jokes about men/women harming another man's genitals has always been in TV and film, and is a source of amusement for a lot of people. A lot of women find it hilarious for something to happen to a man's privates, and that's the way it is.

There are a lot of under the radar men's rights atrocities happening in china. I remember reading a few years back that 24 million men in China were unable to find wives because of the high abortion and infanticide rates for baby girls. And now this man gets his balls squashed. Good thing we have people on top of this sort of atrocity.
