I don't know. I don't agree with "lets save the woman and children first" as much as i'd rather have it be "save the children. Everyone else can fuck themselves". The children need to go on the lifeboats first as they're the most helpless.

I really wonder if there's ever been a "save the woman and children" kinda thing where the boats were filled with woman and children, and there was still some children left on the boat. Meaning woman were taking up spots that the leftover kids could've had.

The maritime notion of "Women and Children first" was alive and well in the early 20th century, having been put into practice in prior maritime disasters. This was chivalry and its finest and at its most tragic. One of the wealthiest people to die on the Titanic was Ben Guggenheim. He died when the ship sank, but not before he exhibited not only the essence of what was considered chivalry in the face of disaster, but also his enormous pair of brass balls. Here's an excerpt from his wikipedia page (after the description of him securing his wife and her nurse in a lifeboat):

"The two were seen heading into the Grand staircase closing the door behind them. He was heard to remark, "We've dressed up in our best and are prepared to go down like gentlemen." He also gave a survivor a message saying, "Tell my wife, if it should happen that my secretary and I both go down, tell her I played the game out straight to the end. No woman shall be left aboard this ship because Ben Guggenheim was a coward." Guggenheim and his valet were last seen seated in deck chairs in the Staircase sipping brandy and smoking cigars. Both men went down with the ship. Their bodies, if recovered, were never identified. Guggenheim's chauffeur, René Pernot, was also lost in the disaster.

One of his final acts was to write the following message: "If anything should happen to me, tell my wife I've done my best in doing my duty."

Mr. Guggenheim was not the only male who deliberately sacrificed himself so that others could be saved. You're seriously going to try and score cheap MRA points over the graves of some men who are a hell of a lot more noble than you are?

TL:DR many more men died than women because, in part, they deliberately sacrificed space on lifeboats for women and children in a reflection of societal standards.

I believe in the concept of male disposability, and I think it's pervasive in society, but I still think this post is dishonest. If you add up all the fatalities from the 20 shipwrecks with the most casualties you will see that men have twice the chance of surviving. Also, the order for "women and children first" is given in only a third of the cases. It isn't as commonplace as people think.

These are all facts and we shouldn't even bother to argue about the discrimination of males in this insane Feminist Society, it is 100 years old, deal with it.

Interestingly though, you can see that Third Class Men had a better chance of survival of Second Class Men, think about that for a second White Knights.

What really gets me is that there were women that purposely let Children die so they could survive; then turn around and feel insulted that there weren't more lifeboats for them.
