Keep in mind that new people are discovering /mr every day. They are encountering ideas, facts and opinions that are radically different from what they've been told all their lives. Many will be skeptical. Even those who are interested may doubt and question, or feel things are overstated and that the truth must lie in some middle ground between their comfortable delusions and the disturbing new things they have just learned about.

Answering those who are "questioning solid truths" is part of the activism in MRA. It is how new converts are created and how the ideas are spread.

these either move mens rights toward a feminist/srs position of controlled speech according to feminist tolerances, or attempting to force mensrights to continually prove injustices and defend statements that are accepted truths. ofc some of these maybe new mras but they are usually too skeptical to come across as that.

We got a bunch of newbies. The SPLC thing gave us a lot of exposure, and now people are coming to /MR and the other "hate" sites to see what's up. Some of them are agreeing. And then they feel like they should have a say on how the /MR ship is directed.

I remember when I was a newbie. The difference was, I knew I was a newbie! So when I suggested x or y or z, and the elders of the movement said "We've tried that before, didn't work." I actually listened to them and learned from them and advanced beyond what they had learned to new things rather than repeated the same old failures.

But the problem is that most newbies on reddit aren't going to be like me where I was. The problem is that reddit is mostly liberal leaning, and liberals, in general, have decided "everything our elders did was wrong and we have to redo it right!" so there is no need to learn from the elders...

I plan to have a lot of conversations like this one in the near future.

I don't want anyone "censored", though I would like to see trolls like JeremiahGuy and married_woman_with_k, banned. They do not represent a legitimate part of the movement.

JeremiahGuy posted a link yesterday about how DV is necessary and about how it's right and proper for a man to beat a woman, just for being annoying. The rationale in the article being that the beatings are fine, because men are over women and women are actually turned on by being beaten.

That article did not support equality. It was not pro-MRM, it was not anti-feminist, it was just anti-woman. Stuff like that makes the entire MRM look bad, and is the reason why the SPLC counts us as a hate group. If we are to be taken seriously, we need to kill these posts quickly and disassociate ourselves from the crazies.

tl;dr: Censorship is bad, pruning the troll tree is good, and is not censorship.
