I get down votes to hell all the time (mostly on feminism, go figure). I just think it's so petty to anonymously down vote without giving and comment on why that is... It just suppresses discussion tbh.

Remember that the point isn't to get upvotes. The point is to say things.

Humans are not, by and large, rational creatures. They do not believe things because of evidence. They believe things because other people believe them. They define "reasonable" to mean "popular". If lots of people believe a thing, they think it must be sensible.

A belief which is popular must, in their eyes, be sensible, otherwise they would be forced to confront the fact that the vast majority of humans are delusional, actually insane, and this would be far too threatening.

This means we don't need to convince anyone by presenting an argument that they believe. All we have to do is be visible in increasing numbers, and that alone will somehow, in their twisted values, be evidence that we are right.

From a female who has worked in paternal rights for several years, I will say that men usually get the short end of the stick. In the education field as well, there is less financial resources to pay for school for men than there is women. It leads to men working harder and longer to pay for things that are handed to undeserving people who use and abuse the system as a whole. Same thing with state social benefits where I am from, if you are male don't even think about collecting food stamps, medical, or any kind of social program benefits. As a male you are eligible for less in funding for education, that is wrong on many levels. That is one of the topics we fight for at our school, as the demographic of men entering higher education in my state decreases every year. It's a stuck point of inequality for me.

From a sociological perspective though, men still have higher social standing in almost every country on the planet. That is of course, based on reported data and is applied as a general statement. As individual cases come and go, the reality is much different and is on a case to case basis.

Stand your ground, as I stand mine. Hopefully more people will gravitate towards and equal standing society. It takes time and education. The best you an do is continue to raise awareness of a problem before it can be recognized as a problem. And you will always face great opposition from people who would rather be spoon fed information rather than form their own opinions from the world around them. Which unfortunately is most people.

I gave up today as well and unsubscribed from all feminism related subreddits. Posting anything that sheds a positive light to MRM means you're going to get downvoted in those.
