I posted this the other day. It's old but I was happy to learn some feminist skeptics are against the dubious scholarship in their field and its effects on other fields.

Most successful and egalitarian men of PZ Myer's generation are pro-feminist - especially those who haven't had sons and who have not personally been harmed by anti-male biases in the legal system.

If you get together with a group of 50 -70 year-old men, you would be shocked how divided they become when the topic of feminism is raised. Fathers with no sons still believe the myth that feminism simply strives for equality for women - that's what feminists keep saying they are. They will quote untrue domestic violence and wage-gap statistics. They have never had the opportunity to see feminism for what it really is; they are so primed to see misogyny that, when greeted with misandry, they don't even notice.

I am very happy that PZ Myers is starting to see the truth: that feminism goes way beyond fighting for equal rights for women and that feminist theory is full of unscientific relativistic nonsense. Reading feminism as a science makes it sound like creationism.

50+ year-old men are the most important target for the men's rights message because they are our greatest opponent, yet greatest potential ally.

Yeah, I used to be a fan of PZMeyers until I heard his views about feminism. I haven't really been to his blog much since. It is unfortunate that he has some very intelligent views about science and secularism, and yet falls so short in his views on feminism.

I never had a lot of respect for PZ because he's a smary snot nosed asshole. But to find out he's a feminist and that this is the ultimate expression of empiricism well now I have no respect for him at all in any way whatsoever in any capacity.

I look at guys like PZ and see a nerd in junior high school who can't understand why the girls choose the jocks over him, since he's such a nice guy.
