Here's the situation:

I had a drunken night with an old friend, we never used protection (our own fault). A few weeks later I find out she's pregnant.

I don't want a child. This was a stupid mistake and I want nothing to do with it. I doubted she would have wanted to keep it, but yes, she does. She's even quite happy about the idea of having a baby. It's not a ploy to get with me or anything. She says she's quite happy for me to not be part of the child's life if that's my wish, she said she'll just be happy with child support.

So many times I've read of child support ruining people's lives when things aren't going well for them. I do not want to end up like that and I certainly don't want a child. Is there any way I can disavow the child? Rather like getting an "abortion", I would never again be considered the child's father, I would have given her plenty of time to get an abortion if she wished. Is any of this possible?

I would never want to force someone to get an abortion, so even if that's an option, I would never take it. I have no problem with her keeping it so long as she understands I will have nothing to do with it, financial or otherwise.

Yes I've spoken to her, but she absolutely wants child support, that's non-negotiable with her.

Am I screwed?

TL;DR, someone I slept with is pregnant, I don't want a child, can I disavow completely? Removing any right to the child ever, also removing my requirement to pay child support.
