Good video, although I disagree with the "difference in response time for crying babies" part. Isn't the difference in response time from parents only slightly less for female babies than male babies? I think you're reading a bit too much into the long term consequences of that.

First - Awesome vid. Very well done.

Second- "What is the worst that can happen if we all just collectively decided that men no more disposable than women and women were no more valuable than men?"

This is the question a lot of people have wondered about or even implied a "nothing" answer, but I think needs a lot more examination.

What happens if we no longer have men to work the shit jobs because they feel they are too valuable to do so? What happens when men are no longer willing to risk their lives in defense of the border, or in defense of the laws? Society won't function with men as in disposable as women.

So is the solution to raise women's disposability to match men's? Could this happen? Would the 52% women majority allow it? Would even the majority of men allow it? Would the millions of years of instinct and biological drives allow this to happen without a massive sense of unease about the idea?

And, still, how does that solve the problem of society tearing itself down by men and women competing against each other rather than complimenting each other to build families?

Disclaimer: I'm not being pedantic or insulting, I'm merely moving in the direction of helping you tighten your argument.

1:26, "[...] has to be evidence of this."

Why exactly does this have to be evidence? You give several pertinent examples, but avoid evidence by authority or evidence by observation.

This is an anthropological perspective and should be grounded in hard evidence. This being the basis for claims that follow means that it not being entirely factual could unhinge your entire discussion. Those who disagree will abandon the video the second they hear anything they know or feel to be incorrect, partially or entirely.

3:45, "[...] one very happy man could [...]"

This is another anthropological perspective disguised as a point of obviousness. The obviousness being that one man could please several woman in order to impregnate them and further increase the human population. This, combined with the previous observation, could be a strong point in your argument if backed with hard evidence. You'll have no problem finding evidence for this particular point as it can be observed anthropologically in wife/husband sharing for inter-tribal meetings as a sign of good faith.

This sounds very condescending when spoken.

I need a better example than women in Afghanistan to get behind this point. I agree with this point, but I do not agree that it's conclusive evidence for any given culture to be inherently backwards when limits are placed on women's mobility and power of choice. I think a better approach would be to show how cultures whose people are limited in their mobility and agency are often backwards, and that by limiting women's mobility and agency you're limiting half the cultures people while also laying track for inevitable gender warfare re: differences in levels of freedoms.

4:50, "However, feminists will insist that these kinds of restrictions [...] are the ultimate form of objectification"

What feminists, specifically? This is another point where feminists on the fence will abandon your video because it clashes with the rhetoric they may have been fed by radical feminists.

5:25, "[...] I would rather be a sexual one or someone's prized possession [...]"

I'm going to put money on the table for this one. Someone's going to say you support rape because of this sentence.

5:35, "[...] our willingness to absolve women of their crimes [...]"

This would hit harder if it followed point 4:08 above. For example: Not only would you show it's unhealthy for a culture to limit the people's mobility and power of choice, but in doing so you create classes of individuals that feel the celerity of absolution in criminal proceedings makes them less than human.

6:10, "[...] shitty behavior [...] I mean seriously, even today, even today in 2011"

Comes off as condescending.

6:30 "[...] whose humanity are we placing above whose here [...]"

I would argue that being a firefighter, pushing forward through the flames on pure adrenaline, I grabbed the smaller human being because I subconsciously feared for my life while also consciously, previously deciding that I must save another. The man is 200 lbs, the woman 100 lbs. My decision was made hastily, I still saved a life, I'm still alive, all is well. Do you have a point here? Absolutely, but I think a better analogy for women coming before men can be made. For example, at 6:55 you say, "[...] we're talking seats in lifeboats here [...]" and that hits harder than an example where a human being must consciously determine who to pull from a fire. With lifeboats, one could easily say that it's first come first serve and that the physical attributes of the individual aren't immediately relevant to the situation. One person is one person, and a lifeboat will seat X people, so load them up. If under this light, when saying, "[...] one life more valuable than another, and the woman wins [...]", I'm much more likely to bask in the presence of a relevant, thought provoking point.

7:30, "[...] I think it was Man, Woman, & Myth [...]"

Find that link, put it on the video!

I just saw this posted in /r/videos but thought I'd find where you had posted it in order to comment.

First let me establish that I am male. While I don't disagree with any of what you said, I'm not bothered by my place in society. I still consider it noble and proper to risk or surrender ones own life for another. So I guess my take away is that being disposable shouldn't be divided by sex. Rather all adults should consider themselves disposable for the sake of anyone else.

She's hot, but stupid. The truth is that everyone is disposable, especially men. Of course I'd like to keep men around for my own pleasure... Confined, of course. Harsher misandrists would have you done away with completely. I've met them personally. But the fact that I'm sexually attracted to men does make me spare you a little pity.
