I'd assume this is because google is using the FBI's definition of rape, which does indeed say that it can only be committed by a man. They're (the FBI) actually reviewing this right now.

Sexual assault is a better term than rape to describe the crime of unwanted touching of a sexual nature to any degree.

In the UK the criminal offence of rape can only be committed by a man.

Under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 says the definition of rape is when someone intentionally penetrates the vagina, anus or mouth of the victim with his penis; while the victim does not consent to the penetration; and the perpetrator does not reasonably believe that the victim consents.

As such a woman cannot commit the offence of rape. They can only be prosecuted for sexual assault. Even if they forcibly penetrate a man's anus it's still only sexual assault by penetration. Doesn't have the same stigma attached.

Men can be raped, women can commit rape against a man, the day this is recognised and seen as something that happens will be healthy for society.

I feel deeply sad for men who are put in a sexual harassment situation or a rape based situation, it's always twisted as some deep dark fucked up thing they did, like it was some how their fault or they were willing, the irony is disgusting.

This was the original meaning of the word. Specifically that only a man raping a woman was rape.
