Go along with her little plan long enough to find out who and where the father lives, then warn him, and let him know what's up. She's one step away from calling in the police and whatnot on his ass anyway.

You asked for the address. Then instead of spying you find and approach the ex. When you follow up with her you present her with pics showing happy smiling family playing together in the "play area". Then discuss with her the importance of co-parenting and explain the evils of parental alienation.

I disagree with contacting the ex. Contact the police instead. What she is doing already comes pretty close to illegal, if it isn't outright illegal already. The fact that you had to file a police report because a woman was soliciting you to spy on her ex will go a LONG way towards helping the man out if she ever does contact the police. AFTER talking to police, then talk to the ex husband. Let him know you filed a police report about it. Then not only does he know what she is doing, but he also knows that a police report (or at least a complaint) has been filed.

EDIT: Up to a point, I agree with her, though. I feel that children that young should not be completely unsupervised. IF that is the case, she has a legitimate concern, but she is going about it the wrong way.

Um, spying on her ex would be weird, but covertly watching the kids because she's worried would be legit. A four year old should not be playing outside unsupervised, anywhere. A seven year old maybe, in the yard with other children. I wouldn't trust someone to care for my daughter if they were pulling something like that. Spying might not be the answer, but who honestly thinks what this ex is doing (failing to do) is okay?

Oh, wait, she met you ONCE and she's asking you this? Either she's psycho, or she's really, really desperate.
