Too little, too late. Kay Hymowitz has exposed herself as a misandrist bitch, and there will be no forgiveness. Not from me, at least. She assumes that men are angry just because women want to have their cake and eat it too when it comes to dating. These are a few of the true injustices that men in the Western world suffer:

Men die earlier than women.
Prostate cancer is ignored, but breast cancer is a cause celebre.
Women have reliable, reversible birth control. Men do not.
Men can be enslaved and sent to fight and die on battlefields. Women are exempt from conscription.
A man's children can be stolen from him at the whim of a family court, while he remains bound to support them through his labor.
A man can be condemned to servitude to support children who bear no genetic relation to him.
Women are all but free from socially-prescribed gender roles. Men remain bound to them, and any who dares who stray from these roles is condemned as a loser, or one caught in extended adolescence.
Men can be raped with impunity, and those who dare to seek justice are mocked.

Men suffer from institutionalized sexism, and we have chosen to protest by turning our backs on the society that abandoned us. We are entitled to our anger, and it will not be assuaged by mere acknowledgement of a few trivial issues.

I love the irony in how a woman is telling everyone all about men's problems, as if she really has any idea about what it's like to be a man.

I think I should write a book and call it "The FUCK is wrong with American Women?!?" --wonder how much positive attention it would receive! lol

This article had points of merit, in my opinion. It really did. It addressed some issues that I feel were very honest and true. We are told, "EQUAL, EQUAL, EQUAL," and fed, "You're the man, why aren't you doing (x,y,z) for me?!" But that's not just in the dating world, it is everywhere. We are told to 'man up' when the definition of 'man' changes yearly, monthly, at worst, daily.

But, while this article had points that I was happy she touched on it still had a very angry undertone, almost a, "I'll do this so these ninnies stop whining," sort of air to it. Lines such as,"good old fashioned misogyny," made me lose my investment in the article because none of my ideas have to do with the 'roll' of women but more the fact that they say equality and seem to live entitlement in the emotional, sexual, political and legal realms. But, that being said, they feel the same of us.

This is a complex issue and she did a good job on certain points, but it all still smells and feels so underhanded and condescending.

TL;DR: Nice try but she should fuck off

Way to miss the fucking point. You call us children when the double-standard imposed by (some, not all, of course) women is the more childlike. Why is playing video games childish and not shoe-shopping? Why is drinking beer and relaxing through life puerile? When was enjoyment of life not the point of all this technological advancement?

A life of stocking and re-stocking closets is not my idea of adulthood. A life of being a crop in a cubicle farm is not my idea of humanity.

Grow the fuck up.

My two main issues is that it's ok for men to be monetarily objectified and that lying about birth control in order to achieve MOMMY status seems to be becoming more the norm. Mom, Marriage, Money status help their facebook profile too!

The article didn't really get to the nub.

I'm angry because, having worked nearly exclusively with women for the past 6 years, I see the same trends time after time.

Men are there to provide: money to her and her children, sex on demand, do whatever the 'honey-do' list says, do whatever the gf wants and otherwise stay out of the way and don't complain.

Or, as one of my last assistants put it more succinctly: 'yup, it's a great time to be a woman'.

After several longterm relationships, I've not touched a woman in 8 years and I won't anytime soon. I am not an extension of their ego and refuse to be treated like a toy that can be discarded whenever its owner gets bored.

In the past, women were taken care of in return for being an extension of the male ego. I keep waiting for a swing back towards a moderate approach of 'I scratch your back, you scratch mine', but the oscillations seem to be getting more toward bizarro-land rather than less.

Fuck everything about that.
