so what? that's the law here. once you sign that birth certificate, you are "admitting" paternity. that's it. what is "discovered" after that means fuck all (to use your parlance). but it gets worse than that. even if it's "discovered" before the birth that the baby isn't yours, you can still be given full responsibility (financially), if you so much as bought diapers or helped decorate the nursery. there's a word for it in law. it's a latin phrase i can't remember now but basically means "if you ACT as if you are, then you are." as such, you should never ever do your pregnant neighbor a favor by going down to the store to buy milk for her. this one thing alone can strap you with child support for twenty years.

men literally have no reproductive rights in this country. most don't figure out that fact until it's too late.

you know this sort of thing makes me feel bad. This guy has probably been self medicating with the drugs for years. I think this is why talk therapy should be readily available to people. I'm sure if this guy was able to deal with the emotional issues that occurred when his wife told him that he wasn't the father... things might have turned out differently for him. Saved him from wasting away on drugs.

I felt so much empathy for this man. He was obviously completely broken by that horrible woman. To see his spirit and attitude after he had been in treatment was inspirational. If anyone deserves happiness its this fellow and his family. I loved the grandparents. I am so glad meth wasnt around during my partying years.

I'm gonna watch it, but I'm sure the show will mostly focus around trying to get the guy off the drugs and blaming him for the entire situation.

Paternity fraud is super common. I'd like to think I've saved a few of the younger guys in their teens I've talked to from this kind of thing by giving them info.

While what the girl did was absolutely disgusting and wrong, Darick is his own person and makes his own decisions and is the only one responsible for his addiction. He is the one that said ok to trying them; he is the one who continues his addiction every time he gets high. Blaming an addiction on someone else, a situation that you went through, or on anyone or anything else is just weak-minded.
