Well, since the person in question is female, this seems pretty reasonable.

At least it wasn't a 17-year-old guy having sex with a 12-year-old girl. That would be disgusting and reprehensible.

This is NZ after all, perhaps they aren't as crazy as Americans had the sexes been reversed. All I can say for certain is that had this happened in the USA, with the sexes reversed, he'd already be dead.
