The larger trend is the ongoing feminization of eduction at all levels. Schools and colleges are unfriendly and unsafe for boys and men. The direct result of hyping up false fears about molesting and rape is that males are driven out of education. Why? As in most moral panics the answer lies in following the money. (women in Salem were accused of witchcraft because someone wanted their property and farms, Jews were accused of murdering Christian babies because someone wanted their wealth). What do women want today that men have? Education and jobs.

Feminists today argue against helping boys in education, although 3 decades ago they argued in favor of helping girls. This is one clear case of the anti-equality agenda of feminism. Helping boys in education would not hurt girls, yet feminists still argue against it. Follow the money: keeping males uneducated will eventually lead to more and better jobs for women.

There are suggestions that boys would learn better if segregated from girls and taught by male teachers in a way that speaks to them. Feminists are bitterly opposed. It would not hurt girls' education in the least, but they are opposed only because it would help boys. The very best way to advance women is to cripple men.

This is one of the reasons why I, as a male teacher, decided to not even bother getting my Elementary Certification. I remember the animosity towards male teachers when I was in school and I've heard the stories and concerns from colleagues that were giving it a go while I was getting my MA.

I decided to just focus on teaching high school and later university students. There are still risks of course, such as infatuated young girls or even older female students in university, but it's much much easier to deal with by keeping your distance, covering your bases, and nipping things in the bud early on.

I'm a male elementary school teacher and I am careful to NEVER be alone with a student (male or female) and NEVER touch a student. They drilled this into us in college; but to be fair, they told both male and female teachers. It makes it hard to provide extra help to individuals, but this is the world we live in. I wish I could have a video camera in my classroom just to make sure some jerk doesn't make a false accusation.
