You need to work on your approaches if you're planning to jump straight into the water here. You really ought to build up your confidence before you do that, though. If you're going into this with feelings of regret about time lost before you truly understand yourself, let alone women, then you're going to get trapped by one [more knowledgeable and ethically perverse] than you. She'll either trap you in a pregnancy or get you to marry her, then completely disrespect her vows. It happened to me. Don't worry about the "wasted" 4 years or whatever you're moping about, just be glad it wasn't the 7 I wasted in my 20's and work on yourself, first.

Focus on you first, and second, and third, and . . . blah blah . . . worry about women seventh.

Get to where you need to be first because everything else pales in comparison. Stopped fapping? That's good. Lifting and dressing better? Great! But don't do it for no pussy or for anybody else, do it because you want to be the best you possible. When you are in it for yourself everything else (pussy) will find it's way to you because you will this awesome person that everyone wants to be around and every girl wants to fuck. Appreciate the responses. How would I go about gaining that "alpha" mentality. The people in the "computer science" field get the social stigma of being considered "beta, nerds; watching porn and playing video games." Most of my work is done on a computer; as well as the studying; I don't get to go out much and socialize/practice those skills in the real world, and am constantly surrounded by these "beta" fellas. Opinions?

For game, you can watch a ton of RSD videos on YouTube, you can also find a copy of Julien's PIMP and SHIFT products.

I find the yareally archive (google it) to be a goldmine. He's a well-known commenter on Rollo's site.

If you want old school, pick up a copy of the Mystery Method. The fundamentals are still rock solid.

Hey I am a Cs major as well. Don't bother with any night game. day game is the shit. If ur shopping or in a coffee shop etc. wherever you are, just day game and it will pay off

Great to know you're working on yourself. Since you're on it, the reason people here don't talk about PUA and game bothers me. Go study PUA and game. Shit test material on the sidebar is gold but still, PUA and Game. If you haven't, start on Neil Strauss' The Game, it lays the fundamentals well and succinctly, but know that other strategies exist (over the same theory) and use one that fits you (probably more aggressive since you're in college).

I used to be a computer science major as well, I know how tedious the work can be, but I'm sure you can free 6 hours a week for a 3 days a week workout program (recommended by most for starters).

Also, I think the thing that helped me out the most in my life is completely cutting out video games from my life. Gaming consumed a lot of my free (and not so free) time, money, made me cringey... Cut it out, you'll be better off (that is if you do play).

Stop hanging out with your old clique, it's hard, but it's necessary. They'll keep you in your old ways, they'll discourage you if you do attempt anything, they'll laugh at you if you fail, they'll never help you improve because guess what, they're not any better.

If you start going to the gym, try to make some "alpha" friends, if they see the desire to improve, some will help you get on your feet, I have yet to understand why but these guys like having a disciple of sorts, maybe makes them feel better about themselves... anyways

Go to the bar during the weekends, definitely not with your old clique, I can see you all hanging out in the corner discussing star wars while sipping on your beers... Talk to strangers, make small talk, it sucks at first, but a few months afterwards you'll start knowing what to say and what not to say.

Oh, speaking from personal experience, I used to be the guy to help people with their homework, never do that ever again, especially for girls, hot or not. Do it it once and that's all you'll ever be, their homework doer. Scratch that, never do anyone's job unless you're getting paid for it, unless of course it's for your bro who does the same to you. Read No More Mr Nice Guy for this matter.

Join a physical sport, since you're a CS major it's safe to assume you're not a 180 lbs 6'5 college football player material, martial arts would benefit you a shit ton though. I'll let someone here recommend some, I play rugby on the other hand which is pretty similar, you get to meet alpha guys, control your anger and your fear, when your regularly beat and get beaten by your peers, and when you learn how to defend yourself, you become a lot more confident.

And to conclude (for the moment), read the sidebar material, know what an alpha and what a beta is, then fake it until you make it. I'm not saying start acting like quarterback frat boy Chad Thundercock while you loo like a twig with bookworm glasses, don't exaggerate or you'll look like a try hard. Dont take shit from no one, learn to stand up for yourself and hold your own, it'll help you with other males who will constantly AMOG you (it's in our nature, we all want to be the Alpha Male Of the Group), and with women and how to react to their shit tests
