Here's the article https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-05-19/rosie-told-police-victim-of-domestic-violence-she-was-arrested/100112832

Holy shit does the ABC have an agenda or what?

Let's assume that the woman in the main story is not lying. Let's assume the police got that one wrong. But how the hell do you include these two paragraphs next to each other?

Australia’s National Research Organisation for Women’s Safety (ANROWS) has found that almost half of the women murdered by an intimate partner in Queensland had previously been identified by police as the perpetrator of domestic violence.

Two women on the Gold Coast have recently been murdered in shocking family violence circumstances. In both cases, it has been revealed that the women repeatedly sought help from police. Queensland Police have acknowledged systemic failings in their response to domestic violence incidents.

The first paragraph is trying to make it seem like these women weren't violent. As though it's a fact. How many of you have seen a domestic violence incidence where both people were being absolute gutter trash? This between the lines assumption that the murdered women were retroactively innocent of being domestic violent perpetrators is insidious.

The second paragraph. Holy shit. So women contacted police. Am I supposed to accept the run-on logic that they were then mis-identified as perpetrators?

The ABC is developing a real knack of saying things without saying them, all while stating nothing but the truth.

Now let's go back to the main story and woman. Abused in her boyfriends parents home while they're both home? Why are we making the assumption that she was innocent, despite trained police and two witnesses assumedly saying she was the perpetrator?

Oh! Because she says she was innocent. Poor thing.

And then we go on to reports of advocacy groups performing surveys (no science to be seen) where women claim they were mis-identified as perpetrators. Hahahaha. No one in prison is guilty I guess.

This is laughable. At least, I'd be laughing if this wasn't more of a push to make it impossible for women to be anything other than a victim. This is Feminisms long stated stance and goal. Here they are, trying to further make it law.
