What is up with people saying that men are responsible for climate change?

Men are viewed by our society as having agency, we have the ability to change things, we are responsible for our decisions. Women are often not viewed as having agency, they have no ability to change things, have no responsibility for their decisions. Men are often expected by our society to make the world habitable for Women, if we have failed to do so it is viewed as our responsibility to make the needed changes. It is a man's world, therefore if the world is messed up, it is our fault.

It's a flawed idea that because the majority of people in power are men, therefore every man supports it. However, as I pointed out in my post regarding abortion and people's views on it (https://www.reddit.com/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates/comments/eahhsb/a_pew_research_on_peoples_views_towards_abortion/), it's HEAVILY exaggerated.

To imply that men are anti-"climate change" is to imply that women are pro-astrology.

Men have agency in people's eyes, the other people are women, therefore the fault will always default to men. Oddly, it is never so with success, or societies virtues.

They think men care about other men which is the exact opposite of every piece of evidence we have seen shows such as the women are wonderful effect. Well X is in power and he also is a man thus he must represent you therefore it is your fault! That is like me saying Gina Rineheart is a representative of women and thus climate change must be the fault of women. It is so dumb from so many angles you don't even know where to start.

Per your OP, I'm not sure that large houses are driven solely by the wants of women, but considering regular consumption it is a good point to show all the other ways everyone is still contributing to the problem. It's not only for the reasons published in these recent articles.

One of the biggest drivers of climate change is simply the number of people on the world. Calculations show that that having one fewer child would save 58.6 tonnes of CO2 per year, when every other change pales in comparison to this (living car free, for example, would save only 2 tonnes of CO2 per year). This is the elephant in the room than very few people are willing to talk about.
