Men should have the right to sue if a woman terminates his child. It's just as much his child as it is hers. Just because it's in her body doesn't give her the right to end the pregnancy without the father's consent. This is just a small step in the right direction. This law allows fathers to sue anyone who even helped the mother get an abortion. Including driving her to an abortion clinic, paying for the abortion or letting her stay with them while she recovers or taking care of existing children while she receives an abortion, people who encouraged her to get an abortion and of course the abortion clinics and the woman herself. Men should have the right to say "hey I don't want to be a father I don't want to be involved with this child" and be able to sign away all rights and not have to provide child support, just as men should have the right to sue if a woman terminates the pregnancy without his consent. It is HIS child too HE has the right to do as he sees fit. I also read that you don't have to just be in Texas that this law allows you to sue anyone who helps someone receive or provide an abortion after 6 weeks regardless of what state you're in. But I'm not entirely sure on that. Of course all the feminists are claiming this is a major loss and men shouldn't have that right and several headlines read "this law could allow r*pists to sue if victim terminates pregnancy". Which I doubt is going to be the case (because if a police report has been filed at the time of the initial assault I doubt the civil courts will rule in his favor) and the vast majority of lawsuits will be from fathers who now, for the first time in history, have a say on whether or not a woman terminates their pregnancy.
