Like drug trials using men as guinea pigs on the first and most dangerous phase of drug trials before testing the drug on women. I’ve seen many feminists claim that putting men at the greatest risk is discriminatory against women.

Women are advantaged over men in job hiring under affirmative action, yet a couple feminist lists of “male privilege” list this ad their number one male privilege.

We passed a law that encouraged education to focus on girls and it worked, with boys doing worse and worse ever since and more females now going to college, but again feminists try to twist this into discrimination against girls.

It’s really simple to understand however: Feminists want advantages for women. They try to justify these advantages by claiming women are oppressed victims. Lacking any actual examples of women being oppressed, they need to make up oppression including twisting discrimination against men into oppression of women.

It's total hypocrisy. One of my gotchas is to ask people if they think we need prison reform. Most people will say yes, and then I tell them they obviously support men's rights because men are overwhelmingly affected by a justice system that throws unreformed criminals back on the street.

I always hear the same thing when a rape accusation is shown to be a lie.The feminists say it hurts real victims of rape because they won't be believed but they never express any sympathy for the man who had his life destroyed by a false allegation.

My dad had a tenant who dropped the fact that she had been raped into almost every conversation.

Maybe it's just me, but I imagine if a woman had actually been raped, it's not something they want to talk about all the time.

It is just an ordinary derailing from an unwinnable by feminists argument, because longer sentences is simple undoubtedly objective fact of reality. Feminists thrive on attention (definitely unearned one in XXI), so turning sight from their artificial problems for a second is anathema for them. That's why they say what you cited in your post.

It's from feminist theory "patriarchy hurts men and women".

It's typical radical thinking. There's one big problem responsible for all the world's problem, and that get very good at explaining why everything is related to their personal favourite scapegoat. If they fall off a bike, it's patriarchy's fault (society brainwashes women out of riding bikes properly?).

A lot of feminists also blame capitalism, so they've got two scapegoats, but they often think that either capitalism is a part of patriarchy, or patriarchy is a part of capitalism. They're very reductionist people, like some radical religious nut who blames literally everything on people not following their religion.

If they weren't reductionist, they wouldn't centre their identity around an ideology. They wouldn't be an "ist".

But in reality, they're values and priorities are not about "end patriarchy wherever it rears its head", it's far more self-interested in reality.

Actually, that’s a good thing. You should be pleased to hear that because it means that person is making their own personal values relevant to the issue you feel needs to change. They are supporting what you said.

If they want to turn it around and make your issue include something they relate to on a personal level - that means they are both listening, and emotionally investing in your cause.

Today, most people lead by emotions. If you can convince them that your problems are emotionally relevant to them in some fashion, you are winning your argument. It might be rhetoric - but that’s what rhetoric is designed for - persuasion. Are you, or are you not trying to persuade the opposite side to support your cause?

One of the best strategies when it comes to persuading an audience of your cause it’s to relate your cause to their suffering. So if you actually flip this around, your argument would go something as follows:

“Men get longer jail sentences, and YOU should care about that! You may not be a man, but the injustice that is being done to men is SEXIST against women! It suggests women are stupid sheeple! We need to change this!”

That is called a rhetorical argument. You are using appeal to emotion to convince people to follow you because of their feelings, not your logical stance. It’s highly effective…albeit quite manipulative.

But, you know, everyone is doing it these days…because people enjoy letting their biases govern their brains. What can you do? It’s human nature, and they never learned how to compensate for it.

the problem is that when someone replies to a post about women saying “men get _______ too!!” it’s completely inappropriate. it’s like if someone was upset their cat got ran over but yours got ran over ten years ago so you start talking about your cat and completely interrupting them. sometimes it’s not the intent but it can be invalidating the victim, especially when they said nothing about it only happening to women.
