Why do guys ask you on a date for X day and when you say you already have plans, they do not even bother asking for another available date?

Could be they are looking for low effort/last minute or maybe they think you are not interested in going out/trying to get you to chase them.

I don’t have a good answer, but I have experienced this as well. I had a man ask me out on a date the day before. I told him I would love to, but already had plans. Instead of arranging for another day, he just said “let me know if you’re free after your plans.” insert eye roll I think it just comes down to laziness and lack of interest. On to the next!

Had this happen 2 weeks ago or so. Guy asks me to lunch day of. At 11:30am. I was at an appointment, and even if I wasn't the answer would still be no. He then tells me he has to leave town for the weekend. I tell him to have a nice trip. Never heard from him again. Not keeping me awake at night one bit.

because they dont think highly or you and do not respect you. they aren't that into you. Low effort men sometimes pretend that they are willing to take you out but when they ask last minute, fail to reschedule plans, or fail to fully plan out the date (they dont follow the day, time, and place trifecta) then it shows they are low value.

a high value man would be planning out a date in advance and set a day + time + place. he would give more than 24 hours notice. the men that I know that are higher quality will ask the lady out in about a week advance. if she says she already has alternate plans, he will suggest something like "alright, how about the weekend afterwards instead?"

For some it's just that you were their last minute rebound. Others think they're getting a soft rejection and want to move on to a more certain option. When they're actually interested in pursuing you, they just ask you to let them know when you're sure you're available.
