I want to hear y'alls thoughts on 50/50 shared custody bills (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_shared_parenting_legislation) A lot of them have already been passed in numerous states. It basically sets the default custody arrangement between two parents to 50/50 UNLESS one parent has significant proof the other should have less/no custody at all (ex. Sexual/domestic abuse convictions, restraining orders, valid proof of harmful nature, etc.). I personally support them since it helps prevent parental alienation and reduce the child support from one parent, keeping them out of poverty. Feminist for years have been fighting these bills because they think abusers will use it to get custody and torture their victims (who they only think are female) but blatantly ignore the overall incompetency of Family Court judges in many of these tragic cases. What are y'all's thoughts?
