My ex FORGED my signature on his student loan. I found out when they contacted me to make a payment. Luckily they took my word for it and i gave them his parents contact details. I never heard from them again. I probably should gave gone to the police.

A valuable life lesson, one that can hurt your future the most if you have to learn it the hard way. DO NOT CO-SIGN FOR ANYONE let alone some dusty mofo. Don't do it for friends and family either. Never get someone else's shit in your name. Not a loan, not an apartment, not a car, not a utility bill, not furniture, NOTHING. If their credit is too new/shady to get something without a co-signer DON'T DO IT. If they have to buy it on credit they can't afford it. It's a Judge Judy case waiting to happen.

I had a friend who did this but she was in her mid twenties. The guy was a con artist who'd done this to every girlfriend and turned abusive when she complained. Her parents had to come and spirit her away one day when he was out and pay off the loan themselves.

There is so much fraudulent abusive crap going on with student loans.

On some subs you'll read story after story from young adults who's parents took out large student loans in their names only to blow all the money on personal expenditures.
