Are men more likely to face violent crime than women?

I'm wondering if a regression of the data would result in a more accurate picture. If the justice system were utterly fair, meaning men face the same arrest and incarceration rates as women did for the same crimes, and if one could eliminate the effects of fatherlessness caused by that (which is self-reducing yay calculus) could a "truer" rate of criminality be determined?

I lack the skills for this, but I think the data would be particularly telling.

I mean, the effects of fatherlessness are astoundingly crushing, and with the disparate impact of incarceration of men combined with incredibly punitive sentencing, is it not surprising that this trend exists at all? The best thing that would help women AND children (along with men) would be justice and prison reform.

But hey, I'm just talking out of my ass here.

Actual crime statistics show men are more often victims of violent crime than women, at least in the U.S. and U.K. I imagine this is true of most if not all western countries. The most violent crime of course is murder and men are 4-5 times more likely to be murdered than men in the U.S.

Men are overall more likely to be victims of violent crime and notably more likely to get murdered yet we focus on women’s safety. One of many examples of gynocentrism at work.

Yes, men face much more violence (at least in large cities in the UK).

Significantly more men murdered than women. Also very tellingly, the only two out of this lot which made the national press are two women, and with that much hand-wringing about a “pandemic of violence agains women and girls”, calls for police responses specifically to protect “women and girls” despite the fact that maybe nearly ten times as many men than women have been murdered so far this year.

It’s so biased it’s farcical, yet noone seems to see that noone gives a shit about men being murdered.

Yes.

As far as I know some 80% of violent crime is directed at men, not women, in the UK and the US. It is also true that the perpetrators of the violence are mostly men. Except in case of domestic violence where women initiate something like 70% of physical domestic violence. It is also backed up by evidence that more man are raped a year than women in the US if you count "made to penetrate" and prison rape as rapes. (As you should.) Rape is a violent crime. About 80% of the perpetrators of rape against men are women. You can read about it on this reddit.

Funny bit to this state when you compare it to rape.... men also often do not report violent crimes against them. You think every guy who lost in /r/fightporn ran to the cops? Probably not, most take their lumps, deserved or not, and just leave and that's that.

Sure ladies, we get it, it's hard to report rape or sexual battery, we honestly get it. Because we do the fucking same when we get our asses kicked too, that's why we understand. Think of how often we could go to the cops, we rarely do. If we did, the stats would probably be insanely alarming.

Your premise mixed up racism with other issues and missed the point.

Black men do not commit more crimes because they are black. But they still commit more crimes per capita. That's a statistic that is not going away. It has nothing to do with cops showing up more. Cops are smoke to a fire - they do not cause the fire.

Reason some black neighbourhoods produce more crime is because their slave ancestors passed on slave mindset. Mindset and lack of education gets passed down hereditarily same way as skin pigmentation does.
Notice i said some neighbourhoods. Blacks weren't the only slaves. But I digress...

Men are more likely to be the perpetrators of the crime as well.

Man on man crime makes up over 50% of crime.

Which means all other combinations of man on woman, woman on man, and woman on woman combined are less than man on man.

Some of this is more self fulfilling tbh. Example:Men are more likely to engage in risky behaviors, such as walking down dark streets at night than women are, and are more likely to engage in violence towards other men than women, due to it being culturally taboo.
