If you don't want to date someone based on whatever random criteria you got then don't, no need to argue with strangers on the internet to try to persuade them otherwise or worse, try to persuade yourself the decison is rational or legitimate. Even if you're irrational or an hypocrite for not wanting to date a certain person for X reason it doesn't matter, it's who you are. Nobody is going to force themselves to date someone just because it's the right thing to do or the non-hypocrite thing to do. Also, can everybody just shut the fuck up with sexual history? Out of deal makers and deal breakers to talk about in a relationship it's always about sexual history and it's just kinda sad and beating a dead horse over and over.

I think the context is that a person with an extensive history of hook-up culture might not be the best person for a long-term seriously relationship.

Both types of relationships are fine. Hook-ups, or long-term. But they’re still very much different.

And when people get the two confused — that’s where you have problems. Normally it’s people interested in long-term that don’t want anything to do with hook-up culture people.

Do people change from hook-up to long-term as they get older? Who knows, but that’s the weight of one’s history.

While the comparison may be a little too "on the nose" (I guess?) It still works, the weight of what you did before will never leave you, may it be sex, may it be murder or something.

If it were probably 5-6 guys, one could say that it's not that big of a deal, although we're still talking about boundaries here, not everyone can bear the thought of a girl that has gone out a lot and that's ok, it's the human mind after all, insecurities and doubts are the norm and they should never be mocked.

But we are not talking about a girl dating 5-6 guys, we are talking about 50, let's be honest, dating a girl that has had 50 guys it's not going to be everyone's cup of Joe.

That said, next time try to be a little more understanding of both sides, it's not misogyny to say that you can't undo 50 one night stands with gangbangs and other sexual acts. It's hard to be with a girl who used to be everyone's fuckbuddy when you are just a guy with only one relationship.

i never said anything negative against the person for being sexually active. i have no issue with it. what i said was that it ok for op to move on because he was personally uncomfortable with it.

While people are allowed to have preferences it seems people with this one start are more likely to talk about it in a shaming way. A person’s value doesn’t decrease because you find them less desirable. I’ve also seen a lot of men blame women that they can’t find women who meet this standard that they want to date.

Also I find it funny how people always take up for this preference in subreddits about dating but in those same dating subreddits they’ll be post that shame women who dare to mention being more attracted to tall guys even when the women aren’t being disrespectful about it.
