This post is more for our newer members, or younger members who might otherwise get this confused.

FDS is a system for limiting the amount of time you waste with LVM. It's designed to allow you to quickly and ruthlessly remove people from your dating pool who don't meet your standards, freeing your time and mental energy for those who do (or for yourself).

FDS is NOT a magic formula for making a man treat you right. You cannot meet a man you like, use FDS religiously, and magically create a HVM who treats you well. Beware of any dating advice that claims to 'make' men behave a certain way; this puts the onus for his behaviour on you. It's not. We are all responsible for our own actions.

Certainly, the better you treat yourself, the better others will be inclined to treat you. The more respect you give yourself, the more respect you will get in general from others. BUT! No amount of self-respect or FDS tactics can make a man treat you well unless he wants to. And even if a man displays HV characteristics for a time (because he realizes that's the only way to be with you) unless he has an upstanding character and strong moral compass OUTSIDE OF HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU, using FDS cannot make him HV.

Does that mean that you could meet a HVM without using FDS? It's possible, just like you might - through sheer dumb luck and serendipity - end up rich and famous despite having no talent, drive or ambition. The odds, however, are very bad.

Why would you want to waste time with people who make you miserable? Why would you want to sleep with people who are bad in bed, risk your health, happiness and safety, when you could take steps to mitigate all that? Sure, if you walk down the side of the highway long enough, you might find a briefcase with $10k in it. But we all know there are much smarter ways to make ten grand, and you'll be much less likely to get hit by a car along the way.

FDS is not a quick fix. It's not a wand you can wave over a mediocre man to create your prince charming. It takes work, and it's not always fun. But I truly believe that it's worth it.
