Also, if you are going to question everything your lawyer advises maybe you need a different lawyer, one you feel comfortable with.

During this time you can make sure to really put yourself in your child's life. Go to every doctor's appointment, get to know the daycare workers, sign up for a gym class and you take him every week. Establish a good, strong, positive example of you being in this child's life in the future, and not just as a weekend dad. You don't have to push mom out, you can both go to doctor's appointments. But if she doesn't want to go because you already are then all the better.

Your attorney is talking about establishing "status quo". Right now the mother is likely home 24/7 with your 2yo. If you divorce now, the mother is the primary caregiver and will get the majority of parenting time. You need to be involved in your child's life as much as the mother is. Kiddo doesn't need to be at home with the mother all day. He can go to daycare, which will allow the mother to go back to work. And she needs to get her ass working, which will benefit you financially as well as status quo.

Yes. Your lawyer is right and you should be thankful that you got a good one. My lawyer never told me anything like this and i am paying a huge CS now
