Don't pout, remain stoic, say "ok that's fine" and go do something else with your time in another room or go to the bar with friends but she's not coming. Behave as if she had said she wants to watch a tv show you don't care for. It is no big deal, not something you get butthurt or mad about, you just go do something else. I don't like saying something like "ok that's fine", to me that comes across as feeling the need to communicate that you are not bothered by and you don't want her to feel bad about it, which seems like signalling weak frame to me.

Second, you need to consider why did she say no? If it happens once in a blue moon, that is ok. Everyone has bad days where they are stressed out or feeling ill or whatever. But if it happens with any sort of regularity it is a clear sign that your alpha and SMV is dropping and you need to get your shit together and improve.

Most of the other guys here are right on. Dread is the preemptive answer. Leaving after rejection is fine so long as you show no emotion while doing so.

But let's say it's late. It's 1130 on a work night, you initiate and get shut down.

Say, "OK" and go to sleep.
