High school girls admitted to targeting and falsely accusing a boy of sexual assault because they 'just don't like him'. Boy was fired from his job, forced to serve time in a juvenile detention facility, is now home-schooled and suffers psychological trauma. School officials just didn’t care.

So even with all the control and manipulative mechanisms she put in place to shape her son into the person SHE wants him to be, she still wakes up in cold sweats fearful that he will one day be his own person.

Seems like a legit way to raise someone.

[–]LoveHotelCondom 41 points42 points43 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

I feel so bad for the boys being raised by feminists. Clementine Ford, one of the feminists who celebrated the higher rates of death of men to COVID-19, had this to say about her son:

Respect women. Unless we succeed in radically changing the world in the next twenty years, understand that women have legitimate reasons to be afraid of you sometimes.

Seek intimacy. Sex should be a conversation between consenting adults. You are not owed anything by anybody.

Remember, your life is no more valuable than anyone else’s. But you can live in a way that brings value to everybody.

When he was a newborn, she immediately labeled him as, by default, a violent sociopathic proto-rapist.

[–]socruisemebabe 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I think the second two paragraphs you quoted are good advice and not gender specific. The first however is complete garbage.

[–]LoveHotelCondom 24 points25 points26 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The fact that she directed it exclusively at her son despite not doing the same for her daughter pretty much affirms that she, on some visceral level, hates him for being male.

[–]socruisemebabe 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In that context... fair enough, yep.

[–]BeanBodhi -5 points-4 points-3 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

The first one is very true though. May need to understand that women have real reasons to fear men. Men also have real reason to fear men.

[–]socruisemebabe 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I feel your comment has a few grammar errors. If not, then I feel it is very very wrong.

No parent should be telling a child they should fear the opposite gender, instead they should be telling a child that people in general do not always have good intentions.

[–]BeanBodhi -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I didn’t say to tell anybody to fear a specific gender. I’m pointing out that the first statement is true and that both genders have a reason to fear men. I didn’t realize that this was being told to a child though

[–]socruisemebabe 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

But you did specify a gender... men.

What I'm trying to say is that your statement and hers is focused on being fearful of men only and that is very wrong and problematic.

People have reasons to fear other people, regardless of gender.

[–]BeanBodhi 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Oh no I didn’t mean it like that. I was just referring to her statement. I know everybody both genders have a reason to fear the other gender. I definitely understand that. It’s problematic for you to tell one gender that the other genders gonna fear you.

[–]socruisemebabe 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Gotcha and thanks for clarifying! 👍

[–]BeanBodhi 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Of course. I think once kids are old enough to understand they should definitely get a not too graphic but a rundown of the dangers that the world holds not gender specific just the dangerous. That way they might be able to understand if somebody is afraid of them or if they’re afraid if somebody else it’s completely OK

[–]Winter-Intention-466 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I’m so confused… what exactly did you read in this quote that was objectionable? I’m probably getting downvoted or banned for asking this.

[–]locks_are_paranoid 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I feel so bad for that kid.

[–]NewfieBadger4 points 4 years ago* [recovered] (16 children) | Copy Link

I’m fortunate. My mom’s a big feminist, but she doesn’t cram it down everyones throats, and she allows her kids to have opinions of their own. I love my mom.

There's a definite difference between feminism and radical feminism.

Radicals want to reorder society in every way to eliminate anything they perceive as male superiority.. they blame and accuse men of being in league to create the issues they perceive as reality.

(From my understanding) a respectable, non radical feminist is out to change social inequalities they believe women suffer from. They don't necessarily target or blame men specifically as much as they do society. I don't always agree with them, but I don't feel oppressed.

I am in this sub, for the same purpose (only for men), that a non radical, respectable feminist has for women. I want men to be supported for what they need. I don't blame women. I just want men to get the support they need.

I am not, by any means, saying take away what women have or don't give them more. I'm just saying I wish men had more support. It's not a comparison for me. Idgaf about what women have in comparison to what men have. I want men to be supported for their needs more than they are right now.

The fact that I feel the need to tiptoe and choose my words carefully, even in this sub, is a testament to the need.

[–]Input_output_error 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Yes, there is, radical feminist believe in 'the patriarchy' and traditional feminist do not.

This is a nice thought, but, in reality a lot of rights are a zero sum game.

For instance, there really is no way to give men more reproductive rights without a reduction in the rights women currently have in reproductive rights. If men get the right to a paper abortion for example, women won't have the right to child support of these children.

This is just one example of reproductive rights, if equality was the goal there would be a lot more of these things that would have to change.

I'm not suggesting that all rights are a zero sum game, but a lot of them are. If we can't discuss in a normal manner how things like these should work there is no chance of men getting the support that they need.

[–]socruisemebabe 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I agree, some rights are unbalanced and are difficult to balance. But I don't think your example is a fair one to use in discussing what I'm saying. It is by far one of the most difficult topics to discuss as far as equal rights between genders.

I'm talking about the way women react if I say something like "men need more support options for rape and abuse they may be subject to". If the reaction is immediately about how women suffer more from these things than men do, then that iswrong and unreasonable.

No where did I say we need to take from women to give to men. This 'us vs them' mentality is the first place raducal feminists go if they are incapable of showing support for us.

There are many things men need better support for that have NOTHING to do with what women have or suffer from.

It isn't just the example i gave, it is just one. It really isn't a hard or difficult topic in my opinion, the only thing that makes it 'difficult' is that women would have to lose some of their privilege in this regard.

I'm talking about the way women react if I say something like "men need more support options for rape and abuse they may be subject to". If the reaction is immediately about how women suffer more from these things than men do, then that iswrong and unreasonable.

Yes it is, but you've got to realize that this support that men are supposed to get can only come at a cost to the support of women in these situations.

If men would get more support for domestic abuse it would mean that the funding for centers to accommodate them would have to come from current budget of domestic violence prevention. As all this funding is going to female domestic centers, they would have to be cut.

No where did I say we need to take from women to give to men. This 'us vs them' mentality is the first place raducal feminists go if they are incapable of showing support for us.

This isn't about not wanting to support women, it is about the support for men would always come at some cost to women. This is something these feminist will not ever agree to.

Another thing support for male domestic violence victims would do is acknowledge the fact that men can be victims. This goes directly against the feminist dogma and would basically invalidate their whole religion. The privilege women would stand to lose is the one of their inherent innocence. They wouldn't lose the right to attack men as they never had this right. But it would abolish their privilege of being able to attack men without the fear of being punished for it.

There are many things men need better support for that have NOTHING to do with what women have or suffer from.

That really depends on what you mean with 'support', but generally speaking that just isn't true. Support has to come from somewhere, you can't give more support to one thing without giving less support to the polar opposite of that thing you're supporting.

Because of the dualistic nature of gender it is impossible to give something to one party without at least restricting the other party in some way.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Why are you being entertained. A program that supports men for X topic takes away from a program that supports women for the same topic? Let's say you are right. I'm hearing you say that women are being prioritized at the expense of men.

Is that equality?

[–]Input_output_error 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yes, that is the nature of duality.

Let's say you are right. I'm hearing you say that women are being prioritized at the expense of men.

Yes.

Is that equality?

No, hence the problems we are having.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, it's not equal but why do you think it's zero sum. That's the part that's getting me.

[–]Input_output_error 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How can it not be? Again, i'll take domestic violence as an example.

If there is any kind of support for male victims of domestic violence the money that is needed to fund this support has to come from somewhere. There are funds available for victims of domestic violence, but they are now solely going towards women's shelters/prevention. The money can only be spend once, and i really do not think that this budget is simply doubled now that there are men in need.

That is but one side of the story though. Other rights that men are lacking are directly at odds with women's rights. Things like preferential treatment of genders in hiring or affirmative action as a whole is classist as fuck. Parental and reproductive rights are directly at odds. Mental health care in relation to male mental health is none existing.

It's basically all rights and privileges that women enjoy but men do not. Either they'll have to share in the funding of these privileges or their rights are limited in some way in order to accommodate men getting similar rights too. The only thing that i can think of is the sentencing gap, that could be solved by less severe punishment for men instead of punishing women harsher, but i don't see that happening either.

Not all concessions that are needed are comparable to the rights that are gained. But a minor concession is a concession none the less and will be fought for by these feminist. Simple things like having a dna test done at birth to make sure who the father is shouldn't be a problem for most women. It is not as if most women are unfaithful or anything like that, but it sure as hell is something that a father to be should have.

[–]socruisemebabe 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sorry to be blunt, but there's far more to it all than I feel you are willing to consider. Money isn't everything, budgets can be and regularly are expanded. Simple fixes are only possible if difficult topics such as abortion for example are universally agreed on. They are not and disagreements are not along gender or political or religious lines. That does make it difficult.

Its apparent to me you already have an strong us vs them approach. That said, I will respect your opinions enough to not engage anymore on them.

[–]vague_obscenity 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's not just the radical feminists who believe in the patriarchy, most regular feminists do as well.

[–]TheSnesLord 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There's a definite difference between feminism and radical feminism.

Yeah, the former is just a polite version of the latter. That's the only difference.

[–]Motor-System-9669 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminism is just stupid asf. Equality was never meant to be. I dare anyone to challenge me on this shit. When have women EVER been capable of running a society, large business, or even a sports team, that was as long running, widespread, and SUCCESSFUL as men? Seems to me all they wanna do is talk the talk, but true be told, I think we know that all they really have is their TALK.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

if you label yourself a feminist, you're probably radical

[–]socruisemebabe 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think it's fair to give self-proclaimed feminists the assumption that they are not radical about it.

However, once they start in on attacking men for their beliefs, they might as well be radical in my eyes.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Haven’t met a feminist who said she’s a feminist who isn’t radical.

If you say you’re a feminist but don’t address or acknowledge male issues affected by the patriarchy, you aren’t a feminist.

It's a wonder why Emily McCombs still has a writing career. A man would have been cancelled. But we're talking about the Huffington Post here, so it's no wonder she still has a job at that rag publication. It's laughable how main stream media like MSNBC cites articles from them like they're a credible news source.

“I hate men because I did not get a prom date and I was a whore in school.” did she say that? i’m ngl i didn’t read the whole thing but regardless of how terrible someone is (assuming she didn’t say it herself, i’m unsure because it’s in quotes) it’s not ok to normalize calling people whores

[–]JustSomeGuy2008 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ask yourself why you are more off-put by a single woman being called a whore than you are by the statement that all men deserve to die.

[–]Alternative_Swan4969 -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

that’s not true. but it’s disgusting nevertheless, it is never ok. i don’t care who it is it sends a message that it’s ok to call people that

[–]Normal-Yogurtcloset5 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Imagine what would have happened if someone tweeted, “1, Cultivate white friendships. 2, Band together to kill all Black people” as their New Year’s resolution? Would they still have a job anywhere? What community would continue to support them? How many moral and ethical people would call for that person to be cancelled? But, instead, calling for misandric genocide is acceptable and this person suffered no repercussions. It’s BS like this that make men call the feminist movement a hypocrisy.
