So I was just thinking about how he allowed Whitley to be so disrespectful to Kinu during their relationship and never really checked her. Purposely ignoring her and butchering her name, physically standing between them etc

He couldn’t put a firm stop to it but didn’t and it’s because he was still carrying a torch for whitley and probably not wanting to lose her attention.

The fact that he allows Kinu to be treated that way by his ex or another woman he knew had designs on him, shows he wasn’t really that into her and was a form of disrespect in itself.

It’s like she was forced to fend for herself against whitleys very open micro-aggressions.

We won’t get into Dwayne interrupting Whitley at the literal altar to get back with her. Why wait until that moment?

I also rather dislike the moments where he tried to be dominant- walking up to her and the quad and telling her “if you ever pull x again i’ll drop you line a bad habit. Now come on! Let’s get out of here”. A lot of women go ape over that but now that I’m older and watching again it just kinda irritates me and rubs me the wrong way

He was very LV to Kinu in that relationship he had with her by allowing Whitley to openly disrespect her all the time. His lack of a strong line was tacit encouragement and showed where his heart really was all along.

Never accept a man who allows others- especially other women with open designs on him, to disrespect you right in front of his face without confrontation or a word. He should’ve been dumped by her for the indirect disrespect of what he allowed Whitley to do and say to her.
