TIL that 60% of Unfaithful Men reconcile with their Wives, as opposed to 44% of Unfaithful Women. Who wants to take a guess this is because Men have much more to lose (financially) if they don't save their marriage?

Yes, there's a financial component to this....and also a cultural one.

As in, the male is seen as having a responsibility to provide for his family , especially kids. Providing security for the family unit is a distinctly male responsibility in our culture. ( sure women provide as well, to be sure, but that's never been seen as a cultural responsibility for the female.)

The courts reinforce this cultural belief.

I took that stat to mean if husband cheats, about 60% of marriages survive while if wife cheats around 40% of marriage survive. Whether they are really happy is a whole other story.

It seems like women are more likely to “accept” cheating than men. How can the cheater reconcile? The person who was cheated on would have to agree to accept it and move on from it. Not the other way around.

Men have affairs to stay in a marriage, whereas women have affairs to monkey swing out of a marriage.

Men miss sex and once the old battle-axe starts menopause or after kids, her labido drops, but a mans is still going. Men seek the re-assurance of being able to pickup (A man's world is ruled by pride) and so the affair re-assures that. men generally love their partners but miss sex.
