"#MeToo is over if we don’t listen to ‘imperfect victims’ like Amber Heard"; Gross article denies Men can be victims of abuse & encourages people to never believe Men. Individuals such as this are why so many Men feel uncomfortable about opening up or seeking support.

If it takes this much pain & suffering for someone as wealthy/famous as Johnny Depp to get justice, imagine the amount of struggling the average man goes through in a False Accusation

One thing this has done though is show that conservatives don’t give two shits about men. Many were under the false impression they were sympathetic to men’s issues

conservatives don’t give two shits about men

Indeed. They actually see man as 'workhorses' - or akin to plantation ''workers'' - crew expandable

The "newish" conservative movement starting in the mid-90s embraced the evangelical ideals which focused on traditional values, as in men to work, men to protect. Therefore the idea of male-only military and law enforcement (i.e. the bullet catchers) was desirable. This is usually spun as underprivileged (i.e. minority) males get treated as human refuse, but it really put all men out there as those who would "deal with it," in the face of crisis and conflict.

It is devolved deteriorated and decayed into woman given all the priveleges and rights; but man shall obey serve and work

Constitutional rights for thee, but not for men.

Sure as fuck the SCOTUS wouldn't punt if they had a law explicitly discriminating against women. They've never done that. Basically this is the SCOTUS affirming that the constitution doesn't protect men.

What would happen if a draft really happened and like a good 25+% of the male population said no

[–]ThatOneCrusader1 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Like what're ya gonna do? Put em in jail? HA that won't win you the war idiots

[–]Imperium_Britannia 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Male expendable! Sad!

[–]pkuriakose 27 points28 points29 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

SCOTUS has continuously abdicated its duty on many issues. Not just this one. They are are cowards on male only draft, qualified immunity, civil asset forfeiture. They are a hot mess of vanity and ego. We cannot count on them.

[–]PaineintheBurke 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's fucking moronic. "We believe in equality, therefore Men should be the only ones drafted because they're better fighters than woman."

Isn't that sexist? Good job insulting all the women already in the military. I do agree the draft should be abolished, but it should be an either or, not a maybe. If we want equality, don't be sexist to women, don't be sexist to men, just treat both as the same pool of potentials. Great job Pentagon, you've both lowered the potential number of troops that you seem to be valuing so highly, and you've insulted everyone. Good job.

Suddenly Conservatives and Feminists are allies when it comes to throwing men into the meat grinder.

[–]Astro4545 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Logically, if they moved for the SC again, they should be able to point out the lack of Congressional action and make it in front of SCOTUS. But I know that is a pipe dream.

[–]Razorbladekandyfan -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yeah but how do we do that?

[–]Astro4545 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

For the moment you can support the people in the op, as they’re the ones who got it there in the first place.

[–]Razorbladekandyfan 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I know.

[–]ZimbaZumba 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If a male-only draft was used there would be mayhem. Men in the US will not tolerate that level of discrimination. Instituting a draft is tough enough as it is. They have not considered this.

[–]vwatchrepair 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Both sides want to I pose their views as laws

Conservatives want to control women's bodies. Force men to fill roles

Liberals want to control races and genders. Exclude others from places.

[–]Ryzon_finity -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Well, Conservatives want to keep things "traditional", meaning, women are mom's and housewife's, while men are the bread winners and fathers. Some don't want women in a draft, some do, it's a thing yes. I personally don't know how I feel about it, if things were different, I would rather not have women in the draft. But that would be if, Men were societally treated the same as women. If equality is the goal, some things are just impossible. But It's a very difficult thing to actually find your stance on it, from a conservatoral perspective
