So we've been at a stalemate on custody after she changed her mind before signing our agreement, I moved back in, changes my address back and am preparing to cancel my lease on the apartment I rented. Fast forward a few weeks and we ran into the holidays, attorneys are on vacation and tensions settled a bit. To the point that it's this bizarre space where everyone kind of fell back into normal married life routines, asking me to pick up groceries, doing me favors, etc. Aside from no intimacy, fairly normal. I have no idea what to make of it, and certainly can't be married to this woman, but I'm anxious about starting up the battle again next week, shelling out thousands more dollars trying to settle, and the tension that brings. I won't give up, but I'm exhausted, and I just don't see when it will end. It's been almost a year, and we haven't even managed to separate yet, let alone divorce, which won't happen for another year after the separation. She seems perfectly content just sitting here hemorrhaging money and not making any big girl decisions. So far, legal fees, the apartment I never got to live in, furnishings, etc has cost me personally 30k, and her probably another 20.. Maritally, assets are already at 50k.. and we haven't even been to court yet for a protracted custody battle over 50 50 with our terminally ill child. That 50k, came from an account we put together for his future medical needs, now it's been spent on trying to split custody. The equity in the house is the next thing to be spent. I just can't understand why anyone would want to do this to prevent either of us time with our dying child.. it seems so cruel
