This is horrible.

Good example of why you don't use friends or family for your cover story when escaping an abuser. The killer's girlfriend was probably too traumatized to plan it through. You can't blame her.

Unfortunately all of us need an action plan vetted by people knowledgeable about abusers.

This is horrifying. I have two toddlers. I can’t even begin to fathom how horrifying this must have been for the both of them. I hope they torture him in prison.

In case you needed another reason NOT to stay friends with pickme's who refuse to see reason and LEAVE their abusers. When you keep people in your life, who keep violent, angry men in their lives, you put yourself in danger too.

Like, if you have any friends struggling, don't wait years for them to "figure it out", you need to help them see why it's not okay for them to tolerate a partner like this. Being one friendship away from an abuser is still too close, as seen here.

Just want to emphasize that I'm in no way blaming this poor woman for what happened. You just gotta be careful, if you have a friend whose partner is a red flag personified, PLEASE keep a safe distance. Assume that their abuser sees you as an obstacle, not as a "friend" that they'll put their charming mask on for.

You need to assume that men like this have complete access to everything your friend does, and if they want to hurt you, they have a lot of information to do it. Stay safe out there ya'll.
