It’s an interesting article, but I’d just like to point out the other side. Men are more programmed more than women to have multiple partners. Men contain the seed and women contain the egg. Evolution has trained the male to plant its seed wherever possible to ensure his bloodline survives and the species as a whole survives. Females have evolved to be much pickier. Their egg can only be fertilized by one male, and they choose their mate not only based on strong genetics but also based on the likelihood that the male helps them raise the child. The latter consideration is found much more in intelligent mammals. In fact, women’s brains flood with the hormone oxytocin after sex, which is the chemical equivalent of love. The purpose of this is for the female to bond with the male and motivate her to connect with him to ensure he sticks around to help raise the child. This is the opposite of what you suggest.

I think your article is more a testament to male evolution rather than female evolution. Like I said above, the first goal of the male is to have his bloodline advanced. Thus, I’m not surprised that his anatomy evolved to remove other rivals’ seeds. The female’s egg can only be fertilized by one male’s sperm, so if another beats him to it, then he has lost.

Look to the woman’s body rather than the man’s to find the biological underpinnings of women. We know women are choosy about their mate. We know it is in their best interest to have the male stick around. We see this in many other intelligent mammals. Women’s biochemistry is wired this way. What you are saying is largely incorrect.

I disagree with you and think this is a post where you're just rationalising your anger.

Ask yourself if relationships where the majority were and are monogamous then why is monogamy the default setting for all cultures around the world, regardless of faith.

Poly type relationships tended to only be reflected within the very top class of any society the general rule for everyone else is monogamy.

Even in cultures that predate current known religion monogamy was the default setting for the majority and more than one wife or concubine was acceptable only to royalty.

The truth is we have evolved to seek out only one person at a time and to emotionally bond with that one person. It's one of the main reasons poly relationships fail almost every single time, enough that people in poly relationships want to redefine what counts as a failed relationship. They'll tend to use language such as learned from, grew from, etc. It covers the fact that emotions were involved, emotions which cannot be controlled, negotiated with, subdued or otherwise ignored. These relationships fail most often because one person gets too emotionally invested, envy and anger and resentment breeds as a result, one wants things to be more even in the relationship and the other is often enjoying the ability to sleep with other people and so on..

So if you are angry we get it, we've been where you are and you will come through this.

Im going to play devil's advocate here : If you agree with that line of thinking. Then you should also be know that by nature women pick the men who they instinctively perceive as giving them strong healthy offspring. So does that mean that she found a healthier stronger mate? Thus justifying her cheating on you? Should there be laws in that effect too? "Sorry, found a mate with superior genetic material, thus; this nullifies our wedding vows and all the years and money we've invested together... Point being. Such logic has a very dangerous and slippery slope....
