STORY TIME:

A friend of mine had his entire life destroyed in five minutes. the accuser is an ex-friend (cut her off), who accused one of my best friends. To this day, I don't know why she did it, but heres the story.

One day, out of the blue, this X went to the police at 8 in the morning, and filed a report stating that she had been raped by B the night before. The way police reports work in India, is that there is no form that you fill out, you simple have to go to the police station, and write a letter, addressed to the police commissioners office, and once it has been processed, the police will file an FIR (first information report). Once this is filed, only then is a case registered on the offenders.

So at the station, she completed writing out the letter with her parents, and she took a picture of the letter before submitting it. She gave the letter to the SI (station inspector) of that police station. She then posted the picture of the letter on her instagram.

Now, I dont use Instagram that often, but If I had seen that post, I would have been able to turn her in sooner. I got a phone call later that very day (around 6pm), that my friend had been arrested. I was shocked, and did some asking around (my social circle is pretty large, and the DSP's Daughter was another close friend). She is the one who sent me her post, and a few news articles about the subject. I knew the second I heard it that it was fake, because B is very serious on the belief that he should only have sex after marriage.

Now lets just take a moment to understand that there were News articles, which were absolutely obliterating his name and then some.. by 6pm ON THE SAME DAY THE LETTER WAS POSTED!!! The Media was fucking merciless. The worst part was that he had turned 18 a few weeks before the incident, so there were people all over social media doxxing him. And all of this was only a result of the letter. No rape kit. no evidence. NOTHING!

When D sent me the post of the letter, I mainly focussed on the news articles and didnt read the letter properly. the very next day, I was reading through the letter, and noticed a few things. Each event was described to a frightening degree of thoroughness. But her fatal flaw that was the undoing of her entire case was the fact that the time that she said she was raped by him, she had been with me, and I had photos that we took at that time, with the timestamps to prove it. I realized this at around 10:30 AM, and was at the police station by 11.

B was released later that day. The crazy part was that the same media that was slandering him the day, didnt write shit about the fact that he had been proven innocent.

I made sure that everyone in our friends group knew what had happened.

X's parents were FURIOUS. I dont think I have ever seen anyone so pissed off. Within three months, their family had moved to australia to escape the guilt. These are the same parents who were ready beat the living fuck outta B, with no proof whatsoever. They apologized to B profusely, and thanked me for "showin them their daughters true colors"

Even though everyone knows that he is innocent, there are still some people that believe her.

But either way, his entire life is ruined. He lost all his college admissions in light of "recent controversy" and was subjected to Police Brutality while he was arrested. They claimed that he was "trying to esacape" even though he was in a locked fucking cell.

SO in the five minutes that she spent dropping that letter on instagram, she ruined a life.
