Hi, I'd like to ask if there's any course you did in how to manage family finances?

Yeah i was going to say Dave Ramsey too. Read that book "Total Money Makeover" - it's really good. That being said, he's super super anti, any borrowing/credit cards/credit score, etc.

I get it, his point is to be debt free and that's absolutely what you should be, but at the same time, having a really good credit score (which he calls the "i love debt score" can make life ALOT easier on you. The moral of the story is to manage your debt wisely.

Also, if you plan to be a SAHM or the like, please, please don't ignore your own credit score and put everything in your husband's name. If god forbid something were to happen to him, or you divorce, you don't want to end up in your 30s or 40s with no credit whatsover and have to build from there.

Dave Ramsey is a good resource. He’s controversial, but his basic budgeting info is good. I’ve heard his investing advice is not great, but I don’t really know about that to be honest.

I love the book YNAB: you need a budget. For a time, I had the app, and had access to their online content.

That said, my husband does the vast majority of the budgeting now. I told him I couldn’t do it anymore. I figure if something happens, I already have 18 years of practice budgeting and I’ll be able to reorient myself.

My husband and I took the Dave Ramsey course and it was very useful for building good money habits and seeing the big picture financially speaking. His cash-only mentality is hard to pull off these days when people order everything online including groceries, but it may be helpful for a few months if you need to get spending and budgeting fully under control.

Rich Dad, Poor Dad was useful for pointing out the difference between productive and unproductive assets but there's too much emphasis on real estate investing IMO. I do think it's worth reading if you have a copy available.

I didn't jump in with Dave Ramsey, but I did do his envelope lesson for a little while and it really helped me see where my money went. I would also suggest consolidating and paying off any and all debt you can. If you have student loans, make sure you have a plan to pay them off.

We use the services of a financial advisor. They handle our investment accounts and built a family budget that includes everything from groceries to savings for Christmas to our yearly vehicle registration. Every dollar is intentionally spent, saved, or invested.

It’s all mostly hands free. Our bills are all paid electronically and certain accounts are funded weekly like my grocery budget.
