I love being a man. Theres two ways to look at it. The victim mentality, or the I don't give a fuck what life throws at me mentality.

Being a man is empowering as hell. I was raised by my father. Had a deadbeat mother. My whole childhood, schools, sports, etc always preached about how strong and everything women were. How they were the "better parent". Growing up i was bullied by women, picked on. Hell I was even kicked in the balls for fun multiple times. The teachers would laugh too.

Thats whats great about being a man. I've had girlfriends cry before because it was too cold or too hot outside. As a man you can get shot 12x, be left out on the street bleeding out and nobody would care.

And that's empowering to me. Most things a man has, he earns. Through work, through sweat, through pain, through tears. But it damn sure wasn't handed out to you. Those things we've all gone through as men, the hate, the prejudice, people assuming you're a rapist. It sucks when its happening. I won't lie about that. But ill be damned if it isn't the best feeling in the world to wake up and realize that in lieu of everything that's happening and has happened, you're still here. You're still fighting. You're still a good person even if the world says otherwise.

In my opinion, the stoic approach is the only approach we have left. Women run the world. Women purchase the majority of things in the world(often with men's money), women have propelled us into an age where men don't even want to go to bars to pick up chicks anymore because its metoo waiting to happen, women have made it so girls have an easier time in education compared to their male counterparts, women have made it so that they have lighter sentences when raping a man than vice versa. Sadly I don't think any of these things will change. It'll only get worse. Thats why I love it though. Whats better? Playing 100% through a game on super easy difficulty? Or playing hard-core mode and only getting 75%? I'd choose hard-core mode anyday.

That's what men have that women don't.

As a 23 year old man, I’d say being a man comes with a unique form of hatred and prejudice against you that women don’t have to deal with. For instance, it’s completely acceptable to make harsh stereotypes and jokes at my expense, founded or unfounded, simply because I’m a “dumb man.” My mother always tells me how “all men are idiots”

Of course I’m expected to just smile and eat shit while people talk to me this way. And god forbid I ever crack a smart ass joke about a woman for ANY reason, even if said reason is retaliation.

And of course I can’t ask a woman nicely to stop, because now I’ve emasculated myself, or she will emasculate me in front of her friends or whatever.

I eat a lot of shit every day, just gotta build yourself up and follow your dreams as an individual. Life is so much easier when you treat everyone else as side characters to your own story.
