It's not the topic itself that makes me uneasy, it's how nonchalant it is presented, as if we're talking about some "normal" thing.

It's that uncanny feeling that makes me want to puke whenever I imagine myself being in that restraint. They used medical instruments, they consulted my parents, they did everything "normal" for something that is the opposite of normal. It's that uncanny, inevitable, and helpless feeling of trust and its violation. Presenting assault on a silver plate.

It's the same feeling of seeing something resembling a human, but it's not human, it's something sinister merely pretending. It's horrifying, and I can't sleep at night whenever I imagine the scenario, how careless it was, how nonchalant it was.

Lovecraftian horror. Familiarity combined with uneasiness, madness, non-human influences on humanity. It's mind-numbing how even today, people can't come to terms with this and try to justify it with arbitrary pseudoscience; ignoring how tissue and nerves work to pretend it's not damaging, pretending a 1% reduction in UTIs is more significant than it is.

And for what? To continue cutting genitals.

How do people get indoctrinated to the point that gruesome acts are seen as normal? At what point does common sense no longer ring alarm bells?
