A culture of entitlement due to a history of oppression culminating in a group wide mentality of victimhood.

It means they believe they can do what they want because the world owes them.

It's a form of emotional immaturity because they haven't grasped the reality that life just isn't fair to most people and they aren't more special than others.

Is it fair that black people were oppressed? No. But the least you can do now, as an individual, is not commit a crime because you think it will somehow right the wrongs of the past.

And if you are going to commit one, don't target the people in your community. Go after the corporation owners and billionaires who are the real thieves and assholes of this world. People are not going to get anything to change by stealing from each other.

Hi. Ex retail worker from a shitty neighborhood here. In my experience it's a fight or flight response. If caught they will always leave but the moment they get stuck in the store or if the security catches them they become aggressive but the moment the police arrive they will either calm down and become apologetic or if you are lucky they get a second wind and we get what happened to this lady.

I know headlines dramatize things, but watching this short video, it's clear that this isn't racism.

People of different colors are detaining these women, and the only white guy is the officer.

How can anyone think this is an act of racism? Maybe, if it was something akin to start of the BLM movement, I could understand, but this is just a guy doing his fucking job.

I don't have any more context on this video than I did when I first watched this video, so maybe I'm just talking out of my ass, and it was actually racially motivated. Sorry if that's the case.

I know it’s tough but not everyone thinks that way. These are individuals who made their own choices. It has nothing to do with the billion otherwise normal black people. Same applies to any other race. Believe it or not, probably did for a night, and her life will be anywhere from a little bit more difficult to a lot more difficult.

I had a girlfriend act up like this girl and she ended up with like... Shit... 7 court dates? And if you don't show up for those, you're fucked. It just gets strung out further and further and makes it worse. $3,000 later and many inconvenient court appearances... Having to take off work for each one, etc.

If I were part of the security/stop loss team and I saw someone on the cameras dropping multiple items into their own bag and not carrying a basket or using a cart. I'd put someone next to the door in case they tried to make a dash for it.

I do think store employees do have a right to stop a thief from leaving until the police get there. If I were accused and had done nothing, then it's inconvenient, but I know I would be vindicated. These ladies were probably guilty and didn't want to get caught. Or less likely, didn't have the sense to be reasonable and threw a tantrum. If they weren't guilty before, they got guilty quick by destroying property and resisting officers.
