Last year I was watching a video on YT by Janice Fiamengo where she linked to her site (Equality4Men I think). I clicked on the site and was taken to porn site. Apparently, they experienced a cyber attack in which visitors were re-routed to a an adult site. It has since been taken down but the damage appears to have been done as Equality4Men looks to no longer exist.

Fast forward a few months ago and I'm researching media watch dog groups which cover gender equality issues in the media. I find my way to MediaRadar . org , a site which focuses on issues pertaining to intimate partner violence. After browsing I locate the section titled "Where to Get Help".

One link was presumably for battered/abused men to find shelter, one looked like a FAQs section and one was to a book that was written by the founder of Ireland's only battered men's shelter. To my dismay, all of the links were hacked and sent the user to all sorts of sites which I can only imagine was a part of someone's twisted humor. The link to the book routed to a womens swimwear site, while the link that was for victims to find help titled "Are You Battered or Abused*"* routed the user to a BDSM webstore. What is wrong with people? This is a new low.. Even for YKW. What could they possibly gain by hacking a site that provides resources for male abuse victims? Seriously, WTF?

Has anyone else come across cyber-attacks or harassment for being pro-gender equality? I would love to begin cataloguing this stuff because this is in the realm of insanity at this point. Any stories would be welcome.
