Hello everyone, I would love some advice on my current relationship. As a disclaimer, I am honestly not really red pilled, I'm just asking here because every other sub is really brutal towards commitment lol.
TLDR: We are 17/18, and have been dating 1 year. He is not perfect, I am not perfect. Should I leave to grow and see what I value in a relationship?
Some more background information: I am newly 18, he is 18 in one month. We have been dating for a year and were friends about 3 months before that. We met during school. I have casually dated about 7 people, he has dated 2-3 before me.
So basically here is the dilemma. We don't fight often, but we bicker about small things. None of it is relationship-ending, but yeah, he pisses me off occasionally and vice versa. End of the day, we still love each other. But admittedly, he is not perfect and neither am I. We are both willing to work and improve our relationship, but again, there are personality differences that are not easily fixed.
I am not sure if I am settling or not. He's a great person, but I am young. I don't know what I want yet. I think he's great, but maybe he isn't. Maybe there are a bunch of great people and I really don't need to put up with the things I dislike about him. He is undoubtedly the most mature person I've dated, but I've only ever dated high schoolers, so not such a great sample lol. I don't know.
I understand that perfection doesn't exist. I think a "perfect" partner is one that is accepting of you in all stages of growth, and I believe my partner is, BUT, there are doubts for me. Maybe I'm too young to be this committed.
I would love some advice on this. Am I doubting this relationship for no reason? Or should I consider leaving the relationship to explore more?
