"#MeToo is over if we don’t listen to ‘imperfect victims’ like Amber Heard"; Gross article denies Men can be victims of abuse & encourages people to never believe Men. Individuals such as this are why so many Men feel uncomfortable about opening up or seeking support.

If it takes this much pain & suffering for someone as wealthy/famous as Johnny Depp to get justice, imagine the amount of struggling the average man goes through in a False Accusation

Poor Johnny. A trial is exhausting, expensive and awful, but I really wish he would go for it. For the benefit of all men everywhere.

I would take over for Camille if she needs lol

Would be stupid. She already lost and doesn’t have a way to pay. He got his life back and justice. Just move on. Most of the people don’t believe anything she says. Waste of money and time.

Soon her Net Worth will be negative 20 Million . . .

[–]ReaperJuggie 24 points25 points26 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Can we just make her pay Johnny every penny she earns for the rest of her life. Like men have to pay women in divorce.

We can only hope.

She just can’t stop shitting the bed, can she?

Most appropriate joke I’ve ever Amber Heard.

Amber Turd?

[–]63daddy 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

She must be a glutton for punishment. One would think she’d be doing everything she could to stay out of the public eye and be forgotten. Her small minion aside, all she’s accomplishing is to continually remind the public how she defamed someone.

And of course setting herself up for another defamation suit.

[–]nocivo[🍰] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She wants to be a victim even if to be one she needs to be a villan for a while.

[–]Shannon41 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

It would not result in another lawsuit. Ben Chew will certainly request a permanent injunction when he prepares the order to be submitted in court by June 24th. Johnny will not have to go to court, again in this matter. Any further libel, slander etc will be enjoined. If she continues after the order is filed, she will be in contempt of court.

Any further libel, slander etc will be enjoined.

Can you explain this a bit more? I'm not a lawyer, and don't understand how it all works. If would please, in layman's terms.

[–]Shannon41 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Johnny Depp's team did not ask for an injunction. In any case, Johnny Depp proved defamation. He does not need to sue Heard again if she continues to defame him on the same elements of that case. Any further defamation regarding that case can be enjoined(combined with) that verdict. At some point, he may wish to file an injunction if he is further defamed by her actions. Right now, he isn't being further hurt by her whining. If she continues in a manner that leads to financial loss, he would be given an injunction. She would be fined and likely serve time for violating a court ordered injunction. The bottom line is no one is expected to keep suing the same person over the same thing. If they keep doing it, it becomes lumped together under the one verdict.

Ah. I understand better now. Thank you.

She really doesn’t know how to STFU does she?

[–]RoundPerspective4916 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. She's a narcissist and she has borderline personality and histrionic personality disorder. Poor Johnny. He needs the next woman he falls in love with to get a psychological evaluation. Johnny is an empath...in many ways.

[–]ImTheTrueFireStarter 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wow.

Someone is unhappy they couldn’t have their way.

Someone get Heard a bottle and some diapers!! 🍼🍼👶👶👶

[–]TheNerdWonder 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm a Depp supporter, but I honestly don't think he should sue her again for financial and mental health reasons. The woman is never going to shut up and will always be enabled by the feminists to keep spewing bile that will just keep him in court all the time. Another lawsuit on top of his City of Lies one is just not good for him and we should be concerned about what is ultimately best for him as a person instead of a prop for the Men's Rights Movement. Do we genuinely want Johnny to spend his entire life fighting these court battles? If we do, I think we shouldn't claim we care about men or their health because making him a prop definitely forfeits those things

He got his victory in court and the record now shows she's a pathological liar and abuser. As a result, he's gotten his life back and that likely includes a career which he should enjoy after taking care of himself and going to rehab for his visible alcohol and drug addiction.

There should be a laugh emoji.

Amber Turd, just Zip it....

For those who say "yeah, but he is just an abuser and his abuse was proven in court" etc., let me just say this. Truth is no defence in matters of defamation, what matters is the intent.

For example, let's say there's a person who know is gay, and what the heck, let's just say this person is a pedophile who specialises in molesting kids with cancer who are wheelchair bound, but also molests animals. Can we get any worse? So, let's say you are dumb enough to go on national TV and say "Hey everyone, did you know that Joe B molests disabled kids and also likes to give blowjobs to Chihuahuas while dressed up in his wife's underwear?" Now all of that might be true, but you have chosen to cause him harm by exposing this behaviour to the public. As a result they might have lost a job and as a result, a civil claim can be made. Remember, defamation is not criminal, it is civil. In civil law, you have to prove that the actions of that person were negligent or abusive and as a result you suffered a monetary loss.

Whether she hit him, or he hit her, or were verbally abusive or controlling, matters not. What matters is that she has acted negligently.

[–]mik123mik1 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, if what is said is the truth its not defamation, its protected speech.

[–]felixxxmaow 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is wildly false on so many levels. Truth is a defense to defamation in the US—literally one of the essential elements of a defamation claim is that the statements were false. If Ted Bundy lost his job because you publicly called him a murderer, he would not have a claim of defamation against you.

The difference between criminal and civil cases is not proving negligence, abuse, or monetary loss. There are plenty of cases where people can be convicted of crimes only requiring negligence or not even requiring proof of any state of mind at all (e.g. statutory rape and drug possession). Similarly, plenty of civil claims don’t require proof of monetary damages (e.g. battery, trespass, intentional infliction of emotional distress, loss of consortium). In both criminal and civil cases you almost never have to prove that someone’s actions were “abusive.” That’s not the legal standard.

Whether or not he hit her DOES matter, because that could prove her statements were true which would provide her with a complete defense. Obviously that’s not what the jury concluded though. The standard for defamation of a public figure is not negligence, it’s actual malice, which requires knowledge or reckless disregard. These are more intentional states of mind than negligence, which makes them harder to prove generally. Negligence merely requires proving that someone did not do what a “reasonable person” would have done, which is an objective standard. Intent, knowledge, and recklessness are all subjective standards.

Truth in court is irrelevant. What can be proven or deemed truthful (beyond reasonable doubt or demonstrated as true on a balance of probability ) Is relevant.

There is a difference between civil and criminal courts especially on the burden of proof.

To my mind they were both bad to each other, but this is what is and isn't legal, not what I or Reddit think.

Did she hit him, or he hit him, is irrelevant in this court, unless it could be proven. This court case was concerning an article Amber Heard wrote. Was it true, who knows, but it was proven to have a negative impact and was proven to not be correct on a balance of probability.

But it doesn't mean he or she was or wasn't abusive. It simply affects what she wrote in an article.

'Whether or not he hit her DOES matter' - is idealistic I'm afraid. If you can't prove it then it means nothing.

I hope she chokes on her words of lies.

[–]RoundPerspective4916 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ben Chew said in his latest interview an appeal is notta...gonna happen.

[–]RoundPerspective4916 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Amber is absolutely 💯 MISERABLE. She is OBSESSED WITH LOSING to Johnny. She will do anything that will feed her being RIGHT. She should stay single. No man will want to touch her with a 10 foot pole if they have a brain.
