How can we judge your looks better than people who can actually see you? Maybe you really look bad without hair, or maybe you look better and your freinds and family just got caught by surprise and just need time to get used to it. At which stage of balding are you? I'd pick a shaved head over a type 5-6 or 7 anytime but I'd also pick hair over shaved head for everything under type 4 and below. You gave us too little information to help you.

I have no experience with balding but I'm a teenager who shaved my head just because I felt like collecting a few new insults. People shitting on you only makes u stronger. Become emotionally unbreakable and realize the opinion of others is out of your control so who cares

usually 'better' is just what we're used to. It's instinctive. Whenever I see girls change their hair I hardly feel that it looks better unless it's a subtle change. Later though once we familiarize ourselves with the change we are able to consciously notice if it looks better or not.

If you are confident with it then you shouldn't worry. It will be the normal move. And honestly it was a bold move on your part and you should feel good because of it. Go on Google and look up how you can compliment the bald look. Facial hair, maybe wardrobe change. Don't be so self conscious about it. You took a risk, now adapt to it.

If so and it has nothing to do with confidence, there are options. Finasteride, minoxidil, nizoral , dermarolling and of course transplants. Check out some hairloss forums for the pros and cons of these (the potential side effects were too much for me).

If by shaved you mean completely slick bald, maybe trimmed short looks better on you. I'm balding at the crown. It didn't look terrible yet but I found myself worrying about the lighting, rain etc. Then I thought fuck it I'm just delaying the inevitable anyway and trimmed it. Didn't really like it at first but got used to it quickly and barely noticed a change with women. Once I was comfortable with it I felt more in control and relieved.

While extreme confidence is the best remedy, it's also a fact that bald just doesn't look good on everyone. Some tips: - don't be pale, get a tan if needed - lift and eat (do this anyway) so you get decent shoulder and neck muscles. This can make all the difference.Scrawny+buzzed hair+pale= hospital patient. -grow beard stubble (or full beard if it looks good) - don't have a weak jaw ;) -try out some different lengths. For me it helps if you can't quite see.through to the skin (3 mm trimmer guard I think)

Thinning across the top like crazy so I shaved for a few years. You find people who really dig it and some are meh. Whatever, I grew it back out some after 4 years or so and it's not much different as long as you don't let it affect your confidence. I may shave again soon cause I like some variety tbh. Just own what you do and most importantly, Fuck what they think.

I did something similar when I was 40 ish. But, instead of going all the way bald right off the bat, I just cut it with a 1/8" guard, so not bald just very very short. After a year or so I cut the rest off. This gives family/friends time to get used to it gradually :)

Anything is better than the "donut" look. Some men look better with no hair than others, depends on the shape of your head and other considerations. But really, us balding guys don't have that many options.
