For guys that are in this situation, you need to be saving half your pay off the books, somewhere no one can find it. She's going to borrow $50,000 right before she files, and say it's community debt, so make sure she doesn't have access to a HELOC or credit in your name. If possible, conceal most of your wages and make her think she has to work a few hours herself, for spending money. You'll fare a lot better if she works, even though she probably will never work full time.

ok so idk if any of you felt like she did.. but it's really shitty. most people that are older.. like early thirties to late 40's, your priorities tend to be your spouse, work and kids. you can't really expect your children to fulfill your emotional needs, thats just shitty, that's your spuse's job. it truly feels lonely when your partner doesn't speak to you anymore, doesn't innitiate phisical touch unless it's sexual, etc. people need deep connection, and when such a connection is lacking from a relationship, there is basically no point to continue it. she never said she was bored, she was just lonely and felt unloved. she felt left alone, because that is what happened. she was left alone. idk if you ever felt like that before breaking up with someone, that time period when you meet rarely and when you do, it just hurts, and you just kind of like ignore eachother, and it's just the ghost of a person you once loved.. thats shit hurts more than the breakup itself. not cheating on someone and not being abusive is literally not even the bare minnimum. she demonised him in that time period when they divorced because she as hurt, she felt unloved. now she grew and understood it as just not working anymore, both sides were at fault and most likely they both moved on. you guys need to stop demonising divorce, because it's not a bad thing. divorce is just a solution for issues that cannot be solved. and you don't really know the kind of arrangement they had. maybe they had separate finances, maybe she earned more, maybe she was the bread winner and he was a stay at home parent. i truly hope both of them healed and moved on.
