Can you imagine for one tiny moment, that it was Prince Philip who was doing the "throwing" and "dragging", and they had it on camera? We would never hear the end of it.

I watched documentary about prince Phillip, and it was hard for him, in that time and age, to march behind a woman. I cannot say about the early years, but in later years, at least, they were really much in love with themselves.

In lots of occasions Queen said how much she admired and cherished her husband, and how he was her rock. It was really a mutual relationship.

I dont see Queen as feminist icone, neither she represented herself like that. She was traditionalist, and good friend with Churchill (whose opinion about womens lib was very well known) . She had really hard time after abdication of her brother.

After his death (prince Phillip), she was just torned by this. Im sure that made this speeded up her time of death.

I liked the Queen because she had grace and femininity, and pride. She came from a different time and age, and never really even once thought about herself like some feminist icon. She showed strength in versatility, acted like a lady, never really tried to be a man. As most feminist tried to.

She was not perfect, sure. But thats why I respected her.

So, I guess the headline is technically correct, but I feel like "throwing a couple shoes at a 6' active soldier during an argument" is pretty far down the domestic violence gradient. Bad? Absolutely, still forgivable though.

As to the royals covering things up, they'd probably hide the fact the Queens shits if they could, no surprises there.

Why does this not surprise me in the slightest. My Facebook feed is full of praise for her, the media has her painted as some kind of saint. I have to look at her face on our currency on a daily basis. That woman was evil. The sooner our country becomes a Republic the better. This is probably the only place I can say it without being completely demonised. The fact I, as a woman, have to come to a men's rights sub to say it speaks volumes.
